"Sometimes I think I was born backwards... you know, come out of my mum the wrong way. I hear words go past me backwards. The people I should love, I hate, and the people I hate..." --Effy Stonem
@@tudormiller8898 series 3 in my opinion. Season 3 episode "effy" has the best soundtracks. And also in season 2 episode "effy" has the best soundtrack.(these are only my opinion)!
Kübra Özgün I can't believe its been 10 years since first gen took over our homes, our teles, and our schedule. Best years of my life no regrets cheers.
This is Dubstep. Before Caspa and Rusko exploded most Dubstep had a similar feel to this, although Dubstep has always been (and still is) an incredibly Diverse genre, and as such doesn't really have clearly defined sub-genres. If you're looking to find Dubstep similar to this, recently a lot of people have been referring to this kind of sound as 'dungeon', dubstepforum has some good threads on it. I'd also recommend 'Mud' by Loefah and 'Rutten' by Skream as starting points.
Dubstep came from England, being born out of 2step, a sub genre of UK Garage. Dub, a completely different genre, came from Jamaica, being born out of Ska, Rocksteady and Reggae. This song is called Spliff Dub, because the sample is from a song called One Spliff a Day by the Dub artist, Billy Boyo. watch?v=YRNSadFvovA
There's more to Dubstep than just 'Brostep' and 'chill Dubstep', the point of this style of Dubstep isn't to be chilled, it's meant to be intense, dark, sometimes meditative. Lack of wub doesn't necessarily translate to chilled, hearing this on a proper system would really get you going :)
Thank you my friend. Uk made Drum and Bass then the Jamacians Turned it into Jungle Ragga then that came quite popular in the Uk. This was all before Dub or Dubstep was made.
sergio portillo & Lexi K Netflix is the original series RUclips had to take some songs out due to copyright in Britain. I prefer the RUclips version over the original when it comes to the soundtrack, a lot of the songs are better. Especially like season 3 episode 8 the soundtrack on RUclips is much better than the original.
A "spliff" has tobacco in it,ppl just use that word without knowing what it means, even "joint" means two things coming together, as in tabacco and weed
No he's right Dub is a Jamaican music genre which came from Reggae, as far as I know it consists of remixing songs and adding digital effects like reverb and something called Panoramic delay (I don't know what that is). Look up artists like King Tubby and Lee Perry. My Dad listens to a lot of Dub, so I know that Dubstep does draw influences from the late 70's dub music.
You're right. Dub is from Jamaica, dubstep from the U.K.. The "dub" in dubstep is influenced from Jamaican dub. Mala, a pioneer of the genre, says so himself /watch?v=odv8pArvjOQ That "dub" prefix is not just in the title for show. And yes, this song is dubstep, if anyone is still confused.
Whaaaaaaa, Dubstep comes from 90's tech-step, a sub genre of drum & bass that was pretty underground as most people loved a bit of ketamine who were involved in it. As time passed and DnB became more obscure as things like garage and 4x4 house killed it off the already obscure sub-genre moved even more out but then came back in 2002-2004 as a more reggae influenced sound (like jungle is to rave dnb). It was never 'Jamaican', its all stemming from the Caribbean influence in UK rave culture. (IMO)
I'm so sick and tired of people saying 'genre is meaningless just enjoy it' etc, because it does matter. Genre is not just a way of classifying music based on commonalities, more often than not genres emerge with subculture (as did Dubstep), and therefore is a matter of identity and possession. This is an issue of the the gross appropriation of something that means a great deal to many people and so is quite rightly an emotionally charged subject.
Hey, I'm really sorry, I didn't want to upset anyone. I'm just saying, fighting about music genre on RUclips is often quite pointless. But I totally agree with the fact that it's interesting to try to find out what kind of music it is. Maybe I was mistaken, but anyway, I really don't want to fight about this now. Do what you want, everybody's okay with this :)
It's the part when Emily and Naomi are having an argument because Naomi let Katie and her mum in her home... you can actually hear it but very poorly when Emily is saying "This is my house. I live here with my girlfriend. And we're having a barbecue." :)
@DocG1337 Unless you consider kraftwerk techno, which i don't, the genre originated in detroit. it was invented by juan atkins, derrick may, and kevin saunderson. i think it was first officially used as the title of a compilation released by 10 Records in 1988 though i believe people in detroit were using it earlier than that. now germany has come out with a lot of great techno. Kompakt is by far my favorite techno label ever but it all started in detroit. just do the research.

I dont fucking know what the fuck means this song but is so relaxing
the fucking netflix took out all the soundtrack
I thought I noticed something different
It's not the distributors fault the show's producers didn't renew the music rights nigga.
There were a couple songs I preferred in the netflix series over the original, but in general the original music is way better.
