Klasse Aufnahmen! Schade das die C-5M nicht mehr die alten Triebwerke haben. Die hatten einen genialen Sound. Ein imposanter Anblick ist die Galaxy aber nach wie vor.:-)

This sounds so lame compared to the old TF39 engines. The C5 just isn't a C5 anymore without the TF39s

Couldn't agree more....but newer technology means millions in savings a year to the government. Fuel efficiency, more power per kg, better computer integration, lighter stronger materials, easier to work on, longer periods between maintenance downtime and less noise pollution. That delightful scream means nothing to Uncle Sam.

I agree completely. Fred just isn't the same without that loud, beautiful oscillating drone coming from those engines. Having said that... My old co-worker tells me the rate of climb with the new engines is something you have to see to believe.

That´s right. I miss the old sound. The Galaxys are flying quite directly over my home. Meanwhile I learned to distinguish between Galaxys and other planes, but it´s not the same anymore.
