    Had trouble with this but it's really easy to remove the non-drive side crank with an 8mm hex wrench. Once that's off you can just pull out the drive side crank and spindle and guide the cable through the bottom bracket area yourself.

    Just tried this on my 2021 Stance 29 2 - XL with a CONTACT SWITCH SL 170 mm. Tried for a while and just couldn't get it to work.
    I think I got it to go in front of the crank bottom bracket, but it just wouldn't make the bend going up into the down tube. Tried for a while just like the video. The end cap was getting snagged on something when trying to pulse it a bit. Ended up losing both end caps in the frame. Couldn't hear them jiggling no matter how much I bounced the bike around. They may have gotten stuck in the crank grease. I guess something was slightly different about my frame or dropper cable that wouldn't allow it to make the bend with this method. Ended up tying a steel nut to a string and easily guided it through with a 1" X .5" neodymium magnet. Then attached the string to the cable with packing tape and it pulled right through. Super easy.

    I am waiting for my Giant Stance 2 29er 2021 to be delivered due next month. I think i can do it, since i am an electrician... We use to fish a tie wires at the oposite end at the tip with a U shape, feed inside the #1tie wire of one hole of the conduit, the opposite conduit hole same process with tie wire #2, wires in U shape so as to have the smoothess slide specialy at a junction or L shape conduit... After the two opposite tie wires meet inside the conduit overlapping one another (you can actually feel the two wires of small vibration) , then make a twist or turn the tie wires at outside as fast as you can, clockwise and the other counterclockwise of tie wires, the 2 U shaped will entangle inside at a junction then you can pull tie wire#1 the other end the other tie wire #2 you feed it inside, from there, exposing to one tie wire, tie it to cable dropper post in a manner that will not injure and taped it in order to have smoothness when you will do the same process by this time you pull the tie wire the other cable dropper post you feed it to the hole. I hope my english is comprehensible. Hehehe. Kinda old school but effective.

      When you get the bike without the dropper post, it will not have a cable already ran through the frame. You will not have a “fish” to tie onto. Use this hack to run the cable and you’ll be golden! 🤙🏼

    • @calebjones032
      @calebjones032  3 года назад +1

      No do not drill on your frame. There is a rubber plug that will come out of your frame where the dropper cable will run. You can either buy a plug with a hole already in it or remove the one that came on the bike and drill a hole in it. Please, DO NOT drill the plug with it on the bike.

    • @calebjones032
      @calebjones032  2 года назад

      That's all going to depend on your inseam, post height, and how much drop you want. Most bike companies ship their size mediums with a 150MM dropper. It covers a lot of riders fit preferences.

    I tried this for over an hour. I could feel the wire drop and start to go down, but then it would hit resistance. I ended up losing BOTH plastic cable caps down in the frame. I can't even hear them rattling around so I'm afraid there's somehow stuck at the elbow. Well shit. Any recommendations?

    What size of dropper that you put on your bike? The diameter,lenght ang the travel?

    • @calebjones032
      @calebjones032  3 года назад

      The dropper post travel is 150mm and the seat tube diameter is 30.9. I do not have the overall length of the post. The bike was a size XL so the seat tube had plenty of room.

    How long should the cable be? I cut my cable fairly short to begin with, but i'm still growing and as I get taller I keep having to raise the dropper which in turn makes the cable shorter, and now I can't quite turn the handlebars 90° because the cable is too short. I can obviously still turn the handlebars fine when biking, but do you think I should bother getting a new cable, or just stick with it? Thanks

    • @calebjones032
      @calebjones032  3 года назад

      There isn't a set length, it depends on your frame size and saddle height as to how long it should be. You have a couple options here. 1. You can leave the cable long enough so as you grow, you can make adjustments without having to replace the cable all the time. Some of the slack can be pushed into the frame so that it is not hanging out super long. Just make sure that its not hanging out to much or it will catch on things in the trail which can be dangerous. 2. Cut the cable to the proper length and just replace the cable each time you make an adjustment. Personally I would leave it a tad long and just stuff as much excess in the frame as I could to allow for adjustments down the road.
