The old school HP was hands down my favorite signature scent for yearsssss. The fact that they reformulated this perfume should be a crime. This current version has zero longevity and almost no silage. Her description is spot on.
So glad I blind bought Kenzo Amour after watching one of your videos. I’ve only had it a few days and I think it’s become a favourite 😍

Hypnotic Poison used to last so well for me but I recently bought a new bottle and the longevity isn’t the best! It’s such a shame. I really enjoyed Mmmm.. when you sent me the sample, I can see the similarities too ❤️

The closest dupe to Hypnotic Poison I have ever come across is Fragonard’s Lune de Miel. Top notes slightly different but settles down to the same smell! I have heard rumours that the Fragonard perfume house has “designed” perfumes for houses ie Dior ... so perhaps they release their own perfumes that are very similar ... They also have dupes for Dior J’Adore, Aqua di Parma Mandorlo de Sicilia, La vie est belle,etc Lune de Miel has EXCELLENT sillage and longevity. Probably worth a try if HP does not perform well for you.
Yeah I was really tempted by that one, it’s a shame they don’t sell a smaller bottle than 200ml though! Maybe one day if I start to run out then I can go for that one. For now I’m happy with these dupes :)

I absolutely love almond scents and I live Dior perfumes in general but racking up a whole collection of Dior is pricey and I haven't even tried them on to know how they wear on my skin and how they make feel! I may try to wait til autumn, but will try Kenzo. Wonderfully put together content on your part, too!

I have hypnotic poison, valentina poudré and amour kenzo at home. All of three have vanilla, powdery vibes but are differents.
Hypnotic fragrance has a bitter vanilla, not at all sweet, with a mixture of almond. It will suit older women.
The other two have a sweet vanilla, I find that Amour and Valentina are quite similar, Valentina has less vanilla, is lighter, airy, powdery.
So for me, Hyponotic is not too much of a dupe.
For the other two, I agree that they are similar
You are correct. Dior are renowned for reformulating. The previous one was so
much stronger. Pure poison has much better performance but its a completely different scent but so beautiful 😍

Heliotrope can give off an almond style smell. You may be picking up from that. Great video 🥰

Love this comparison. Great job! I have worn Kenzo Amour for years and thought I should possibly look for another one just in case it goes out of manufacture. People always compliment me on it, so great to know I have chosen a great fragrance!

Hypnotic Poison has been one of my absolute favorites since it came out in 1998 and was created by one of my favorite perfumers, Annick Menardo ( Kenzo, Lolita Lempicka, Yves Rocher, Le Labo, Lancôme, and many others) I find myself going anosmic to Hypnotic Poison, but others can smell it and tell me they smell it when I walk by. I also own Confetto by Profumum Roma which is VERY close to Hypnotic Poison ( actually Confetto came out first ) and performs better on my skin. You might want to give it a try! ❤️

I used to wear hypnotic poison in my teens I absolutely LOVED IT, I could spray it on myself and week later go to wear a sweater I had on when I sprayed it and it still smells like it. It was my favorite purfume of I'll time.
I just got a bottle at ulta a week ago it smells just like it used to its just very weak and doesn't last at all. You are 100% correct on that. Upset is an understatement. I'm sorry but I just paid $108 for something that doesn't even work. So so upsetting. Thank you for your vid, im going to have to check out these other purfumes.
I have a 30ml bottle of the 2014 Hypnotic Poison formula and the staying power and sillage are perfect! Because i love it so much I recently purchased a 150ml bottle and oh my....deception, betrayal, the way Dior has cheapened this bestseller outrages me. Now, it doesn't last long at all, like 30 min max and in a very discreet way, almost no sillage. Is really sad how companies are just focusing on their financial gains without taking in to consideration loyal customers. I'm gonna get me some Kenzo amour, i have a sample and it's a gorgeous perfume, same style but much cheaper and better performance.

the best dupe of hypnotic poison edt i've smell so far is definitely scandal le parfum (the red bottle) amour kenzo is a really good perfume too but more for summer/spring

Great video! I can never get enough of this smell so it's always nice to know that we have more long-lasting alternatives! A nice little house I can recommend to you is Tesori d'Oriente (Italian brand). Their Fiore del Dragone perfume is very close to the original Hypnotic Poison EDT. It doesn't have big sillage, but it's definitely better than the current HP version to me. I love that one and Sweet Hope by La Rive (which I know you reviewed) as affordable and better alternatives that are available where I live. Also, I think you might really enjoy Byzantium by Tesori d'Oriente, since I know you love sweet scents like me. It has so many great reviews on Fragrantica as well. People seem to adore it. White Musk by TdO is such a soapy, everyday, out-of-the-shower scent that is super long-lasting. It's also very polarizing, like Thierry Mugler's fragrances. People either hate it or love it, so keep that in mind if you ever decide to buy/order. 😅 Reminds me of Nivea cream in a perfume form, that's the best way I can describe it. Those three I would say are the best of what they offer and they are all really affordable!

I love Hypnotic Poison, but you're so right, it lasts 15 minutes on my skin too.
Because of that I wouldn't repurchase. I tried the EDP and it's a totally different scent and I didn't like it at all.

I have the same experience with the edt! the edp is so much nicer and has incredible longevity if you ever get around to sampling!! ❤️❤️❤️

I think most of these fragrances are missing the licorice. That’s why they’re probably not a closer dupe. I bet if JHAG Mmm had licorice in it it would be almost spot on. I own both fragrances. Mmm is very long lasting and the sillage is incredible. I put it on for a dinner out and I could still smell it the next day.

Try layering the Hypnotic and Kenzo on together either with one on top of the other or side by side to get the presence of both I love to layer and I have also added a vanilla body mist to my HP and the KA just to get some extra out of them but I definitely do spray my clothes also Thanks for the video 👍🏾🤗

HP was my scent in high school, alongside D&G the one with the red cap. I know, weird choice for a teenager, but I was so mature for that age! I’m watching this to see if Mmmm is worth buying 🙂 Not as a dupe for HP, but in general.

I love Hypnotic Poison and Valentina Poudre. I have been wanting Kenzo Amour. Now I want Juliette has a Gun mmmm. I think Valentina Poudre smells like Hypnotic Poison just with out all the sweetness.

I blind bought Valentina Poudre and I’m not head over hills for it. Maybe it has to grow on me I’ll give it a chance before I sell it.

It's like the base is the same for Mmmm and HP but mmm gets its sweetness from fruity raspberry and HP gets it from that root beer ish accord

Good morning Sally! Based on your video I bought Kenzo today. It's a beautiful, delicate scent of course, but definitely a skin scent only. After 10 sprays still can't tell that it projects. How sad! I guess that is appropriate only for use in home, because outside no-one will be able to smell it. The bottle is made in July 19. What about yours, are you satisfied with the projection? 💕🌺
Hello! I find that as long as I spray enough of it, it projects quite well throughout the day :) but I agree it is a softer scent.
I have been wearing Moonlight in Heaven by Kilian and it smells very similar to HP. It has coconut like HP and a rice note like the Kenzo...
Kenzo amour le parfum ( the gold bottle) is more intense and more long lasting than the original amour . ( more beautiful too IMO).
Do you think you could layer HP with Mmmm to make it last longer? HP is my favorite fragrance. I've never smelled any of the JHAG fragrances

It’s so weird - the edp smells like a completely different perfume to me and I hated it. I purposely buy the edt. I have used this for years and always bought the 150ml in duty free and it lasts so so so long on me. Even if I spray it on a scarf it will last days and days. I am so interested to hear about people saying there is a new formulation which isn’t as good. I guess with lockdown we are using less fragrance at home so haven’t repurchased in a while. I will be heartbroken if it is a new formulation that isn’t as good.

The most confussssssssing video ever. I get it flashing a bottle around, no title.. not mentioning names of perfume, not in description. Then flash a 3rd perfume...have to hunt the names sifting through video to hear names of perfume.
