The video of someone saying they heard their own voice hits home for me. It was about 10-12 years ago I woke up & heard my mom/dad arguing downstairs (sounded like about me) I finally got up to see what was going on & no one was home. TVS we’re off & everything. I called asking them where they went & they said they were otw home they ran to the store, I immediately broke down crying bc I was so freaked out. Between 6-9 months later my mom had called asking where we went (she said she woke up & heard my dad & I arguing in the living room so she got up to see what was going on) but of course we weren’t home, we were otw home from church at the time. She broke down crying as well because it was our voices (no TVs were on either for her). That’s how my dad justified the same things that happened to both of us. A lot of weird things happened in that home other than that but that memory stuck with me & I don’t believe I will ever forget it, traumatized me tbh.

Mully was correct. The animal shown is that clip was not a confused skinwalker, but an actual animal. It is called a maned wolf. Maned wolves are 3 feet tall (To explain the height) and are the tallest of wild canids. The maned wolf, though being confused with a foxes, wolves, hyenas, or african wild dogs, are actually none any of those, but are a distinct species. It is the only animal of its genus. (The genus name is chrysocyon)

Growing up in the south, any time we went into the mountains, I was taught that if you heard a crying baby/ woman, it was a bobcat. It's weird but very accurate in my experience.

As a Navajo myself I was always told to never speak about them and that even mentioning the name is a bad omen and can cause one to follow you and give them power it’s supernatural power to not meddle with and that if late at night if u smell rotten meat, see glowing eyes, and feel dizzy one is near never believed in them till one night I visited family in chinle and smelled rotten meat and felt dizzy and I swear I thought I’ve seen glowing eyes a block down my grandmas house. Animals exist. Some make weird noises, like Lynxes/Bobcats, which I believe were shown in this video at 10:57. Grolar Bears/Pizzlys exist. Coywolves exist. Ravens and Crows are smart enough to solve puzzles a 7 year old person can solve. (For an animal, that's impressive.) They can also recognise specific people based on their faces. They have made friends with WOLVES. Nature can do some *weird* fuckin' shit.
There are many logical explanations to what people hear and see, and yet people always seem to want to resort to superstition to explain it... Kinda upsetting.

Listen, my logic is: indigenous people have been in the americas for thousands of years. They know a lot more about the land then we do. If they have a serious reaction to the creatures name, they HAVE to know something. I think they KNOW what is out there. Their culture is heavily involved with these creatures and others in the “folklore”. I just tend to trust people who have an extensive history with the lane and life. They have true fear, and that fear is absolutely for a reason. So imma stick with following their rules and precautions when addressing these creatures. They. Just. Know.
