I think it’s wise for the relationship as well. Those early days are for getting to know each other. I don’t think it would be possible to give a new partner the full attention they deserve if you were hanging out with them whilst in charge of your children. Not to mention it puts too much pressure on everyone getting along at a time when u should just be having fun

You're so right not introducing your kids to a new partner until you fully know yourself..I was 7 months into the relationship with my now husband before meeting my beautiful step daughter,she was 6 at the time,16 now,it took a long time for us to trust each other,she needed to know I wasn't there to take her dad away from her and I made it my business to meet her mum who thankfully was lovely and very accepting..it's very hard but the hard work definitely does pay off when you know it's the right person

I must say I admire you for being open about your personal life. I can imagine that dating all over again may not be easy but I guess you need to trust God with this aspect of your life. It is only God who can bring the right person into your life.
I think that the girls will understand that. They will likely be going through that with their other parent. You need to be happy to be a better father for your girls. Don't give up your personal life for your girls but make sure you find a partner who respects your girls. So it is about finding a good balance between taking care of yourself and being a father to your girls. I love how good a parent you are.
That’s definitely the hard part. Finding the balance between sacrificing for your kids and being a little selfish and chasing your own happiness so that you can be the best version of yourself for them. I’m still working on that part. I gave up everything I wanted out of life to be down here with them and now I’m slowly figuring out how to get a bit of what I want too so I can be a better me. For me and them.

Speaking from experience, my dad got it wrong when he married after my mum passed. He forced the new woman on us and our home became a battle front. She was outright jealous of any time he spent with us. She cleared off after twelve years. He needed someone in his life, as he was a pastor and also, I had my own life to live in a different country. The lady he eventually married accepted us as her sisters, there is just a four year gap between her and I. She created a home, is very loving and hardworking. Our children are her grandchildren, my daughter affectionately calls her “Big Mummy”. My dad has passed but she holds the family together. God’s plans for you as a man, father and future spouse are for good and not evil. It will take time but His time is always best. Any woman who comes into your family dynamics will be blessed with two lovely girls who will accept her as long as she is real with them. You set the parameters, talk to your girls, explain to them. It was my daughter who questioned the man I met- “ are you going to make my mum happy?” Looking back I wish I had made him take a lie detector test, he just wanted to regularise his status in the UK. You are spot on with the green and red flags and whoever the woman is, she will be getting a jewel of a man. There are not many of your kind. As for the friendships lost, those were not real and today’s society has lost the deep meaning of friendship and it is so sad. It is their loss. Three aspects of friendships - for a reason, for a season, for life. I think that the girls will understand that. They will likely be going through that with their other parent. You need to be happy to be a better father for your girls. Don't give up your personal life for your girls but make sure you find a partner who respects your girls. So it is about finding a good balance between taking care of yourself and being a father to your girls. I love how good a parent you are.
That’s definitely the hard part. Finding the balance between sacrificing for your kids and being a little selfish and chasing your own happiness so that you can be the best version of yourself for them. I’m still working on that part. I gave up everything I wanted out of life to be down here with them and now I’m slowly figuring out how to get a bit of what I want too so I can be a better me. For me and them.

Jamie, that's my son to the tee he hasn't dated either and he is in no hurry to be in one, he's focused on his kids and work and his standards are the same or similar to yours. He wants to wait and he said, it has to be something straight from God, like your parents my husband and I have a blessed and lovely marriage and my son loves that. My husband and I told him to pray for whatever God has in his future that He is in it. Take your time in choosing a new partner. Speaking from experience, my dad got it wrong when he married after my mum passed. He forced the new woman on us and our home became a battle front. She was outright jealous of any time he spent with us. She cleared off after twelve years. He needed someone in his life, as he was a pastor and also, I had my own life to live in a different country. The lady he eventually married accepted us as her sisters, there is just a four year gap between her and I. She created a home, is very loving and hardworking. Our children are her grandchildren, my daughter affectionately calls her “Big Mummy”. My dad has passed but she holds the family together.
God’s plans for you as a man, father and future spouse are for good and not evil. It will take time but His time is always best. Any woman who comes into your family dynamics will be blessed with two lovely girls who will accept her as long as she is real with them. You set the parameters, talk to your girls, explain to them. It was my daughter who questioned the man I met- “ are you going to make my mum happy?” Looking back I wish I had made him take a lie detector test, he just wanted to regularise his status in the UK.
You are spot on with the green and red flags and whoever the woman is, she will be getting a jewel of a man. There are not many of your kind.
