Wonderful video on your fire pit build. Lots of effort into making this very strong, especially using the fiber binding cement on the exterior. Those darn Amazon drivers. Everyone stay safe, happy and healthy.
That came out pretty good. Love your attitude and patience. Funny I had the same experience with an Amazon driver in my driveway. Lol. Oh and I see you have an extra chair. I'll bring the cocktails and some steaks to throw on the pit and of course the stuff to make the smores.
Yea some drivers just don’t think. Driving on someone’s lawn in Florida during raining season… what did he think would happen. And yea drinks and steaks sounds amazing!!
You never disappoint Meike. Next time you run into the problem with the caulk, just drill out the clogged tip or cut the tip down closer to the tube. I’ve even removed the tip completely just to finish a project.
Hey Chris thanks for the tip. The problem was just that it is a brand new tube and the tip was empty, the whole tube was dried out. Just one big hard blob… glad you like my project and thanks for watching :-)

Most fireplaces and pizza ovens are built out of it… So I’m taking my chances here. Never had an issue so far, knock on wood right
Hi Patrick, thank you. I had a few other comments that suggested that and it was in my plans but as I was building I forgot about flipping the cinderblocks to the side and I ended up without holes 😬 hope it still does a good job 👍
How does this keep happening with Amazon vans? Do they hire the worst drivers possible? I noticed you didn't put any breathing ports for oxygen to the fire. That's a pretty deep pit and might require drilling holes near the bottom to help the fire burn.
You know my original plans had 4 of the bottom cinderblocks turned to the side so there will be holes. As I built it, I totally forgot about it 😬 it’s been raining daily here, so I haven’t tried it just yet. But I will make adjustments if needed

Well the cement alone is enough to hold up a brick wall. It’s designed for that. Without any glue or mortar. If it can hold up a straight wall, a small firepit shouldn’t be an issue at all… my thought process

Your firepit looks great however, air holes near the bottom would improve the burn and reduce the amount of smoke from the fire. They would also help burn the wood completely and give you a cleaner ash.

I wonder if the outside brick coating material was damaged from all of the water you had there lately? Humidity high is like water to some of these things. The tube of construction glue was just crappy. I hope you returned it to the store, or will for your money back or for a new tube.
The cement set pretty quickly. It didn’t rain for a day, so it’s all set. I have the same cement on the well house and it’s been holding up great. 👍 or were you talking about the bag itself? Since that looked like it clumped up from the moisture? I’m just glad it’s coated and I’m done with this job 😜💪

Great idea. A fire pit is a nice addition to the backyard. Isn't it always nice when someone thinks your lawn is a great place for turning around. 😡🤬
Thanks Darren. Yes I can only agree. Some people don’t know what it takes to keep a lawn nice. It can be so much work
@WhatMeikeMakes I don't know if it's fair ??? That cement is activated by moisture and it's been laying around or was it a new bag ? ??
@@darrenwhite3362it was a bag I purchased a few days before the project.
Again, another great build. The firepit might be the hottest but it's not as hot as you. 😘
Awe, thanks Mike
