  • South Sudan's opposition leader Riek Machar is expected to return to Juba to form a unity government led by president Salva Kiir, a crucial step toward ending a violent civil war.
However his return to South Sudan has been delayed due to disagreement with the government over the number of troops he can bring and the weapons they carry, under the terms of a peace agreement.
VICE News traveled to Machar's rural base in Pagak, South Sudan, to find out what will happen next.

He seems very very calm/scared compared to the first time we saw him. He had a very happy go lucky tone when we first saw him.. Strange

+tajayfoot1 War changes people. He's a humble man, but think about it. If you wanted to go and negotiate peace, but your opposition has tanks and heavy Arty in place waiting, wouldn't you be a bit un-easy too?

+tajayfoot1 Yeah because after seeing all those people get massarced & being in a conflict for years that's not at all going to change a person. When you're in that suburban white kid bubble ...

why are there subtitles when his accent is no stronger than the interviewer ? that's a Eurocentric fail an obvious sign of a view from the white lens

if and when he gets to Juba, i don't think peace will come from it, the Juba government is already implying they don't want him back and the fact that theirs still fighting happening days before he's supposed to arrive back isn't a good sign.. idk but this could turn sour very quick
