12. When Family Guy gets heavy, it REALLY gets heavy and I love it. 11. A good special, but not quite one of my all-time favorites. 10. Actually never saw it. 9. I liked the inclusion of "It's A Wonderful Life." That was just perfect. 8. Now you now I love this one. 7. Oh HELL YEAH!!! 6. Haven't seen it in years, but I really miss it. 5. Very nice special. 4. Never seen it, but wish I had before it got spoiled for me. 3. Beautiful. Simply beautiful. 2. I actually enjoy the Jim Carrey movie as much as this one. 1. Ah yes. Mustn't forget this one.
These cartoon holiday specials are iconic and timeless in their own merit. Each of them have their own charm and purpose, and their execution was great and unique. These specials were the ones that defidently get that christmas spirit up and flaming, and they will always have a place in all of our hearts and nostalgic minds. Happy holidays you crazy kooks; Be merry, share in the good times, and Redcord totally wailed........ Hehehehehehe!!!!!! XP
Usually I can argue with a countdown like this. But I can't. Especially with pinky and the brain. The minute I saw that I felt my chest tighten up from feels. And as for how many versions of a Christmas Carol, you'd spend all the way to next Christmas with each one
Great list. Here are some I would've included that didn't at least get honorable mentions: - Spongebob Squarepants "Christmas Who?" - Foster's "A Lost Claus" (I actually really relate to this one personally) - A Johnny Bravo Christmas - Billy and Mandy Save Christmas - Mickey's Once/Twice Upon A Christmas - Disney's Prep & Landing (both) The Charlie Brown Christmas is also one of my absolute favorites.
I've seen almost all of these specials, but I'm surprised you didn't add Billy and Mandy Save Christmas or The Snowman to the honorable mentions. Personally, The Snowman is a beautiful animated short with a great score and perfect animation. I could put the music on and just be in-tranced with the music, it's that good.
I can't believe you guys didn't mention the Snowman! Not even as a honourable mention! That's my favourite Christmas Special that I've watched! It was also my first!
Two that could have made at least an honorable mention, but are older and don't get aired much if at all anymore, "A Claymation Christmas," and "A Garfield Christmas."
My favorite Christmas special is probably The Story of Santa Claus. It's an animated story about a toy maker who finds himself at the North Pole and with a wish from the elves.
One of my favorite Christmas specials was Hey Arnold Christmas. It symbolizes what the holiday really is about. Hope, miracles, love and being with family. Seeing Mr.Hyunh reunite with his daughter was the BEST! Few other specials can top that. The Danny Phantom special...I did not really care for. Mostly for two reasons, Jack and Maddie's ridiculous picket lines debating whether or not Santa is real and the fact that the very issue forces Danny into hating Christmas altogether. Over the years, I have seen people hate Christmas for a MULTITUDE of reasons. Some hate it due to the loss or separation of family/friends (like Batman,) which is justifiable. While others hate it for stupid reasons. Door-to-door carolers, shopping or some stupid issues wrought by ones family, like Danny's. Twas the Fight was really awesome. Especially the idea of the "Permanent Naughty Plaque." One could imagine the amount of characters on there. Princess, Joker, Slade, Joffrey Lannister and countless others. I find it really awesome that for the final top three. You chose three of my all-time favorite specials. My last two top favorites are The Stingiest Man in Town and the 2000 version of The Life and Adventures of Santa Claus. The first movie is Rankin Bass at its best. Creating a rendition of A Christmas Carol that rivals Mickey's. The second film gives a well-animated and entertaining look at Santa's history. Plus, who doesn't love hearing Jim Cummings do Santa's voice? But I've rambled enough, great list you guys. Have a very Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year with your loved ones
Redcord be nice, Oblivion looks adorable! Also it's kind of hard to not tell anyone what happened during number 4 when you put it on RUclips.... well time to go binge watch Christmas specials.
Some of these I agree with and some I don't. My list of top 15 cartoon specials would be as follows: 15. Family Guy Road to the North Pole 14. Hanna Barbara's A Christmas Story 13. Nutcracker Scoob (Scooby-Doo) 12. Twas the Night before Christmas (1974) 11. Frosty's Winter Wonderland 10. Yogi's First Christmas 09. Casper's First Christmas 08. Mickey's Christmas Carol 07. Tis the season to be Smurfy 06. Frosty the Snowman 05. A Charlie Brown Christmas 04. Jetson's Christmas Carol 03. A Flintstione Christmas 02. Yogi's All Star Christmas Caper 01. Christmas comes to Pac-Land
My faves were the "Fright Before Christmas" (Nod to the moral of not being a grouch), the Mickey Mouse version of "A Christmas Carol" (It's actually one that doesn't scare the crap out of me for once; I think it was the CGI one that scared me to pieces), "Christmas Everyday" (I give it nod because of the moral that every upside has a downside, a valuable lesson), and "How the Grinch Stole Christmas" (I will admit, I liked both the old cartoon one and the live action, though the cartoon is more timeless and will always have a place in my list). As for "The Pinky and the Brain" Christmas episode, never seen it but I still teared up. Wow, I am an emotionally sensitive person. Is that a good thing or a bad thing since it's towards something fictional?
I gotta say that I love this video and I enjoyed what you and Oblivion did in it Redcord! the only thing I question is putting the MLP Christmas special in the list. well I found the MLP christmas episode ok, I just wish they did another one that would be on the holiday itself of how it turns out in the present. you know like with how the Mane 6 trying to find presents for each other and their families, but things going out bad for them cause of a bad pony or bad ponies not believing in the spirit of hearts warming or not caring about their families and friends.
merry Christmas charlie brown is my favorite Christmas show is vary heart warming show so heart warming more than hot coco on a cold night sitting in front of the fire with the people who the love you.
Fun fact about a pinky and the brain Christmas the voice actor Maurice lamarche the brains voice actually cried for real doing the ending I swear to god
Oh boy!!! Here we go! 12. Wow that is deep and yes, I do feel Christmas has become too much about commercialism people have forgotten about the meaning of Christmas. It's why this is the saddest time of the year for me. 11. Hmm interesting. 10. Uhhh no, no, no, no! 9. Wait, that song came out before this episode, uh, right? I remember hearing that song in the late 80s, early 90s. 8. I would have been shocked if this episode didn't make the list. IT'S AWESOME!!! One of my fav MLP episodes hehe. 7. Meh, never liked the show and have no interest here. 6. Ug, I hate villains like that are so 1 dimensional. 5. Yeah, I remember watching another cartoon with this theme, but can't remember which one. It wasn't this show for sure. Oh yes, Sesame street did this with Elmo doing it. 4. Uhhhh, it was sweet, but no tear gushing for me. 3. Okay I think I may give this episode a look at. Something tells me the FEELS will be big. 2. Classic! I would have been shocked if this didn't make the list. Hmm, one left. If I had my guess, it's a Simpsons episode hehe. 1. Oh, oh, oh!!! This one!!! Yay!!! So happy ya'll went traditional here!!! AWESOME!!!! Hey Redcord, got a question for you. Ever seen the cartoon special- The Town that Santa Forgot? It's completely in rhyme too and I enjoy it.
Honestly I prefer the live action How the Grinch stole Christmas because there's more story to the grinch than the animated one but the enemy many was kind of land and you ask me
#12 Japenise girls with no restraint, just to choke me till i faint #11 i love this show but is it bad i forgot this villain i guess? #10 just gonna say i hate the term "X-Mas" It's Christmas call me a stubborn catholic i don't care because i am damn it! #9 okay send me hate mail i don't care but i don't think the joker is that great a villain. he's not bad but i think death stroke A.K.A. slade is better. hey just opinions #8 JoshScorcher would be proud #7 i loved Ed Edd and Eddy and still do #6 yeah i loved this show #5 you can keep the snails #4 Wait! I SAID WAIT! Steven Speilberg wrote pinky and the brain?! #3 i just like hey Arnold it's a good show #2 okay this is my favorite it's not the best that's a charlie brown Christmas but still it still my favorite #1 okay i can see this the original is probley the best but the mickey mouse is still good
The Hey Arnold special makes me cry every time. It makes me realize how much I miss my father around this time
The idea that the Fairly OddParents Christmas special is magical is wishful thinking.
:D
...I'll just let myself out.
I really like the loonny toons christmas carol. It made be cried at that tear jerker moment.
My choice for the top three: How the Grinch stole Christmas, Mr. Magoo's Christmas Carol, and A Charlie Brown Christmas.

Hehehehehehe!!!!!! XP
You should have seen Oblivion after Litttlefoot's mother died. "Pet Shop Water Park"---Patent pending.
True!
I love the South Park specials "Woodland Critter Christmas" and "Mr. Hankey the Christmas Poo"
Usually I can argue with a countdown like this. But I can't. Especially with pinky and the brain. The minute I saw that I felt my chest tighten up from feels. And as for how many versions of a Christmas Carol, you'd spend all the way to next Christmas with each one
Hmm?
Daww... sad Redcord is ADORABLE!!!
Great list. Here are some I would've included that didn't at least get honorable mentions:

- A Johnny Bravo Christmas
- Billy and Mandy Save Christmas
- Mickey's Once/Twice Upon A Christmas
- Disney's Prep & Landing (both)
The Charlie Brown Christmas is also one of my absolute favorites.
Omg I love the family guy episode and the fairly oddparants episode also. Thanks for the lists I'm looking forward to next year
I've seen almost all of these specials, but I'm surprised you didn't add Billy and Mandy Save Christmas or The Snowman to the honorable mentions.
Personally, The Snowman is a beautiful animated short with a great score and perfect animation. I could put the music on and just be in-tranced with the music, it's that good.
First time watching this series. Cute.
awesome work guys!!!! a few of my favourites made it in this and phineas and ferb a special mention ^^
I can't believe you guys didn't mention the Snowman! Not even as a honourable mention! That's my favourite Christmas Special that I've watched! It was also my first!
I actually never heard of it until I saw Cellspex's review of it.

I like the santa in the Jimmy Neutron Christmas special, he's voiced by Mel Brooks, that alone is funny and ironic
I'd liked the list but I'm slightly disappointed that no Christmas Scooby doo specials nor recess miracle on 3rd street made the list.
