very nice to see her again.
she is one of the best athletes in all sports history
you got that right
So elegant, so precise. She knows how to do a beeeautiful beam routine
Aliya is one of my favorite to watch.. I'm glad to see she's still in the sport.
Can people please read the CoP before they go around criticizing an acro series? The CoP states that in a beam acro series, only one element has to be C or more (meaning a salto). This means that her front aerial connected to the front walkover/handspring stepout counts as an acro series. Actually, it's basically just a bhs lay stepout backwards.
CoP states an acro series is a min of 2 FLIGHT elements, 1 being a salto (elements may be same) Therefore they must have credited that forward walkover as a handspring. It didn't look like a handspring to me, ie a FLIGHT element. But she got credited for an acro series anyway.
no, she needs 2 "flight" elements, which she clearly does not have. I am not knocking her gorgeous gymnastics, but she's being "gifted" by CV's she just didn't make. This was scored too high
+XXX xxx Oh, Aliya isn't one of my favorite gymnasts. I'm just saying that technically counts as a series. The walkover actually was a handspring; her feet hit the beam after her hands leave the beam which makes it technically a stepout.
+XXX xxx Okay, I understand :)
It wasn't a handspring & shouldn't have been credited as such. A handspring isn't just a fast walkover, pushing off a little at the end!
For a handspring you achieve handstand, (legs together in handstand) then push to show flight, then land either 2 feet or step out. Therefore it wasn't a handspring & she had no acro series.
They had no option but to call her on no acro series at the world beam EF 2014, as she had a clear break from free w/over to free cartwheel. But this time they were just too generous.
I like her a lot. Just an unbiased opinion. I am a former Brevet judge, & I know what a handspring is!
When she hits Aliya is great on beam. A shame she didn't make the Rio final.
this was perfection, she's pure art
Excelente, me encanta verla despues de tanto, se ve un poco reservada a diferencia de otras competencias, peo despues de algun tiempo regresa muy solida y con la experiencia que le caracteriza. Bravo Aliya!
Front Aerial + Front Walkover = acro series. Get it right people! She did the same at the 2014 euros in the final and scored the exact same. Its not worth a connection bonus but it qualifies as an acro series. A front walkover much like a round-off or a back handspring step out is considered an acrobatic non-flight move. A Rulfova, valued D, (full-twisting Korbut flip) is also considered the same. Someone mentioned Livchikova's acro series of Front Handspring + Front Tuck. That qualifies as an acro series as well, in fact worth 0.2!
Actually a front walkover cannot be counted in an acro series because it's not a flight element. Unlike a round off/bhs/fhs-fr a part of her body is touching the beam at all times. The judges are being very generous and probably crediting it a fhs and then deducting for lack of execution and amplitude.
+Casey Leek there is logic in what you're saying but still, i've seen it happen before with many other gymnasts. Surely they cant be acting generously with every case. I'll look into it more, i'm very curious now. Because if what you're saying, is how the CoP works then that wasn't just generosity, that was a crime against all other gymnasts
the Zarina is back! I missed her so much
the queen😍😍😍
The Amelie music in the background matches the routine
Pretty and she always brings in it competition, but they were generous in giving her credit for an acro series.
5 haters so far disliked it. What a losers!
Why are they losers ? They have there own opinions of what they like or dislike. Nothing wrong with that.
9 haters
+autoneto I wouldn't say haters. I would say those who see she was credited for an acro series she did not complete. even if they did allow the front aerial to front handspring (which was a walkover not a handspring) into the back walk out, maybe. but she broke the connection anyways so should not have received the connection OR the element and without the element there is no series
looooove to see her! she s so elegant but i wonder if she stands a chance against biles.
is she back?
what name music? pls
who was on floor with a Yann Tiersen song?
Who nows who is doing the floor I like the music so and I am very curious of the routine
I am wondering the same thing! Plus, what is the name of the song?
No one was performing on floor, Aliya's beam was the last performance in the rotation. The whole arena went completely quiet and all eyes were focused on Aliya, it was so great to witness!
it's Yann Tiersen, soundtrack of "Good bye Lenin".
He also did "Amélie"
Actually, I'm pretty sure it changes over to the "Amélie" soundtrack around the 49 second mark (possibly from "Goodbye Lenin," I've never seen that movie). But I would bet that from 49 seconds on, the music playing is part of "Comptine d'un autre été - L'après-midi" from Amélie.
I've never seen Good Bye Lenin either but I have the soundtrack
a queen
If she fails to upgrade in Rio, she might not win an individual medal
***** I know Aliya hits when it matters, it's just that she does a low difficulty routine. She can easily win Gold when she upgrades because she's going to hit in anyway
***** She never hits a higher difficulty and sometimes misses an acro. She should change her routine instead of losing huge points on d value since that she always score high on execution
***** I'd love to see her take the gold on bars and beam though. That would be like the best
***** it's her loss if she doesn't contend for gold on bars. It's the Olympics and it's where you make it or break it and regret things you should've done
***** if she upgrades up to 6.9 on Bars she'd make it. She typically has the highest execution and can hit up to 9 above (INTERNATIONAL SCORING) while others are upto 8.7-8.8 max.
She lost her balance now :(
Seda is just so annoying, I hate her altitude, she was not even cheering for aliya, even her own friend Angelina, she just stood and look so rude
