You're absolutely right, "Luke Robert! Comparing studio albums to books and chapters is such a creative way to appreciate the structure and storytelling in music. It's like embarking on a new adventure with each song, just like flipping through the pages of a book. Whether it's a long album or a short one, the cohesive and artistic nature of it shines through, just like a well-crafted book. I love how you've captured the essence of it all. 🎶📚

I have an atypical use case that I'm hoping you can help me with. I use Ableton to make DJ turntable-style mixes. I load up full songs, warp them and simulate beat matching mixes (I'm Gen-X, I did my live turntable thing in the 80's and 90's!). The issue I have is that the overall volume of an exported WAV or MP3 is really low. I need to crank up my stereo volume on to 90% of max just to get the same volume as 40-50% for streaming music. I believe this is because Ableton is adjusting the overall volume to keep any peak outputs (even if just a few seconds of peaks for a 2 hour mix) from crashing the ceiling of the output. Some tips say to add compression to the master track, but that would require me to playback the entire track in real-time and watch for any peaks. Do you have any experience with something like this? Thanks!

That does not sound like an Ableton issue more like low quality mp3s. Ableton does not adjust the tracks volume and you can check that in the clip settings. Also the track in the mixer on Ableton defaults to -10 typically stock so make sure to bring that to unity for full gain.

Hello, I exported a project but when I listen to the wav file, the quality is much lower than that of the ableton file. Is there a solution ?

What are your export settings? Anything on your master buss that could be causing this. Are you monitoring different than your output of the export?

Thanks! You mention a lot of videos that you will link below but I don't see them? Am I overlooking them?

You would only want to dither at the final stage. Preferably that would be the mastering stage
