    Because one Allison V-12 isn't enough ! What an amazing machine! That will be a guarenteed full pull every time !!

    I love the sound of the V12. But imagine how many have been shot down crashed and burned before pulling ever started.😭😭😭😭😭

      Better have an M1 Garand because that shotgun will be quickly out of range with the speed of this thing...

    I wish more Pullers here in the States ran these, turbines, or radials. Something other than a bunch of V8 hemis. Availability and $$ of course likely preclude that.

      Yeah seeing as to how most anything in regards to aviation is inherently expensive I can’t image the cost of parts for these due to age alone.

      I know. I miss the Allisons. I’ve gone to pulls for 25 years and the sound of the Allisons were always my favorite. I’m in Ohio. Last time I saw a tractor pulling Allisons was Bionic Buzzard at Fort Recovery in 2022. Haven’t seen once since.

      @@ABC13573 Agreed. Once you hear an Allison you never forget that awesome sound! Never seen a radial in person.

      These engines belong in restored WW2 airplanes. Not in a pulling tractor. They're 80 years old and are becoming increasingly rare. They don't need to be blown up doing this stupid shit.

    Like the Allison? Check out Gardener stone The general . 3 of the v 12 Allison turbocharged. Long ago in the 80's there was a tractor with 4. They fell out of favor over the years as suppliers ran out an the Allison was a lower rpm engine. Love em though. Imagine zooming thru the clouds with this beast of a supercharged v12!!!!!!

      that tractor is still alive, although, it's a twin now. Mark and John Zemcick, NYTPA, the Animal. They are also close friends with Diekman and the Rat Poison crew.

    So they must have 2 exhaust valves per cylinder? I see 24 exhaust pipes per engine

    • @somethinburnin
      @somethinburnin 4 года назад +6

      Yup. 2 intake 2 exhaust, 2 spark plugs per cylinder,

    • @MarsFKA
      @MarsFKA 4 года назад +6

      Two pipes per exhaust port.
      Fun fact: when the engines were fitted to aircraft, the exhaust stubs were angled backwards to make use of the thrust as each cylinder exhausted, the gases exiting at up to 2,100 kilometres per hour. This was equal another 70 horsepower and an increase in speed of 16 kph. In a military aircraft, any increase in performance was worth the effort.
      Note, however, that on this tractor, the exhaust stubs point straight up. This is clearly to keep the front wheels of the tractor on the ground.
      Most of the time...

    • @leosypher9993
      @leosypher9993 5 лет назад +1

      It sure can, long project but its possible, upon compleation I will not only feel as though the engine wants to propel the car foward, but the torque would feel as though the car would be flipped over

    Interesting vehicle, is that a chain drive between the engines and the final output to the rear axle ? Details of this transmission would be appreciated...😀😀

    • @juggis
      @juggis 2 года назад +3

      It is a crossbox. Meaning strong gears to connect the engines to the output shaft. Engines are connected to the crossbox through centrifugal clutches.

      @@Demidar hey friend my buddy has a 2017 model and he can only go 255 miles on a full charge. The batteries are not quite there yet nore are the charging stations. I prefer my truck I can buy petrol anywhere and drive all over the America's. It's hard to beat that. Also I spoke with the tech guy when he came out .I asked him if tesla can shutdown the cars.? He said "any time we can." That's not a good thing when a car company at the request of whoever can stop you from coming or going.
      Gas powered vehicles are a cultural way of life here in America. And will probably always be.

    • @PistonAvatarGuy
      @PistonAvatarGuy 3 года назад +2

      Where do you get 4,000 hp worth of electric motors? You'd need to buy a whole locomotive's worth of traction motors, then you'd need to figure out how to fit a large enough battery on the tractor to power them. Anyway, it would be boring AF.
