- Here are 3 modern built mechanical organs playing together!
The option to have new or old organs made to play using MIDI has also given the option to connect several MIDI built/converted Organs together, the effect is good and when spaced apart as these three were the effect is fantastic especially when you're listening from the centre but unfortunately that effect is lost in the recording/playback process though it does give the recording a better stereo image.
Audio and photo's from the "Organ Enthusiasts Day 2014" at Cotton Mechanical Music Museum, UK.

ABBA and fairground organs -- What a winning combination and with THREE of them playing together!!!
ABBA and church organs is even stranger, but amazing: look at Principal45
But, all done by the magic of MIDI, and Bluetooth connectivity.
Who ever did the Arrangement, and made a change (decreased note at a crucial position) is a Genius. This is Gold, thank you for sharing, Kind regards from GERMANY.
It was me, David Aldridge who made this arrangement of "Waterloo". I sold it to David England who was then the owner of the "Duchess" street organ that is one of the three mechanical organs featured in this video. I think a man called Brian Hunt now owns this organ.
@@davidaldridge580 smashing job. Sounds absolutely brilliant.
Imagine Mama Mia but all the music is fair organs
and the action takes place in XVII century
That would be brilliant!
I've been waiting 25 years for this moment...
Sorry sir, must've taped over the perforated sheet music.
You WILD for this one! Who told you you could play Abba Waterloo on THREE organs ?!?
I didn't, I merely recorded it, One Organ did have a sign requesting not to record it however, but I was recording the other two so.... lol
So basically un unlimited amount of street organs connected by MIDI and playing together is possible! Years ago there was a street organ festival on the market square of Gouda, with street organs from very small to huge dancing hall organs placed on trailers. Imagine them all playing together !
Amazing that they were able to synchronize the three of them.
All easily done via MIDI, if they have MIDI systems fitted then one or more can be plugged into the other then just one unit is set to play and the others follow perfectly in sync.
Brilliant - ABBA translates well because the fundamentals are solid 👍
i finally figured out why this instrument sounds so familiar to me! it’s like riding on a merry-go-round!!
That's it!
Oh I love this! I always have loved the Calliapi or fair organs :) Beautiful
I've been waiting 25 years for this moment.
I am so envious I would give anything to have one of these. Thank you so much for posting > > > Jim

youse have to go to Knoebel's Grove, Elysburg, PA -- they have a monster fair organ.
I live in PA and one of my biggest childhood memories is hearing the fairground organ at Knoebels- ugh so nostalgic lol
I am impressed beyond belief. Thankyou so much ... Love it.

I mean, there are worse videos....and there are worse abba covers
Yep, this is the good kind of weird tho.
WOW!
Great

I don't understand how three different organs can all play the same song.
I understand that MIDI syncs everything and distributes the notes that should be played, but I was under the impression that each organ used it's own scheme for what midi number activates what instrument.
So the midi channel for organ on one may be the snare drum on another and the wood block on the third. Or is there a standard layout that all Midi-equipped organs adhere to?
I believe the Scale (key layout) of any organs connected together always has to match, as is the case with these three.

@@finntrautsch2065 not too versed on midi. however i do know each organ can be assigned a voice or more depending on its capabilities in midi. And then the composer/compiler arranges the music around that.
Me and the boys at the carnival:
Well, That's my answer to, How did you sync them ? written in the 1st line.
They sound great.
💜
Please elaborate on "modern built". All new componants, or rebuilds from basket case donors?
I believe these three are all made only with new components.

that sounds make Waterloo so uplifting, despite of the bittersweet lyrics, about the woman not resisting a seduction
Interesting, to me the lyrics is about falling in love. Nothing bitter about that. However, she did not throw hersels head first into the relationship, but it took time to know her feelings.
@@57thorns when she says "I feel like I win when I lose" sounds like she is feeling somehow guilty
@@resireg It means she's losing the "hard to get" thing which is what she wants
Better the original ...
Still photos of a fairground organ?
Yes as I don't have, nor can currently afford a suitable video camera, I just have a really naff one on my ancient mobile phone. One day I may be able to get one but until then it's stills unfortunately.
Ja, but tune up needed !
Which one? lol
