I guess im asking randomly but does someone know a tool to log back into an Instagram account?? I stupidly forgot the account password. I would love any assistance you can offer me.
Man I love your videos 💯. You always say I’m not going to go in depth (2 secs later) you go in and show us anyway. Love man!!! Keep up the good work. As soon as I get some time I’m gonna take ur theory classes.
I appreciate this knowledge and musical wisdom that you droppin brother, these techniques and secret sauce helping me get better daily , much respect from Memphis TN, God bless & thank you
For real man. People don’t make “weak” kicks and snares and 808s on purpose and it’s so annoying when I see producers spend (waste) so much time tryna “find the right (xyz)” and then boost the vol. It’s about how you fit it in the mix.
TheToastMinator you only need to mix drums. There's no point in mastering drums unless the only thing your track is going to have is a drum loop with no vocals and other instruments
Question: I've been producing for a long time, and I always see people separate the pattern tracks for each drum. Why? Is there a benefit I am missing? You can put each drum on it's own mixer channel for the mix down without making a new pattern track for each drum, and that definitely saves me a LOT of time, but is there something I am missing out on by doing that?
Variety in your drums you dont want your drums playing all the time sometime you only want to cut your 808 and kick out for 1 bar and make them come back affer a while. At least thats why i do it but maybe there is another way i dont know about 😅
@@MrSwagger5468 Hmm, I just make a bunch of different patterns, and automate the mixer to cut one sound or another out. Maybe I'll try it out the other way, might run into something that makes it more worth while, anyways!
@@MrSwagger5468 @Caveman EDM you can make all your drums, melodies, etc. under one pattern then: > right click the pattern selector where it says "Pattern 1" at the top > click "Split by channel" to automatically seperate all of your channels into individual patterns to use in your playlist for structuring the beat.
How did you make the last two kicks in the channel rack higher than the others? This is something that would help me IMMENSLY so if anyone has an answer plz let me know ! 🙏 Thanks
Do you have any advice on how to make drums bang hard like this in Logic Pro? What’s the logics version (or external plug in) I can use to get the same effect as the ‘fruity soft clipper’????? Cool vid bro!!!! 👊🏿👊🏿👊🏿
Only wish you produced with Akai MPC software but I can still kind of port the idea over to my DAW from this vid... great teaching even for us who don't mess with FL.
Clipping is not an issue unless the multi meter says its 0db, I can have the channel strip flashing red to denote clipping yet the multi meter contradicts it with a minus 5 db. You should use the multi meter and never trust the colours on the channel strips
Clipping is exactly what it sounds like it means ur signals wave is being clipped and depending on the program probably being folded baxk into itself. So you no longer have a clean signal. So for things like vocals it can be a problem.
What did you do when you cloned it, did you just use that first kick pattern at the beginning, and then change it at the end to be the same way for the rest of the song? Why didn't another kick track show up is what I'm confused with, because when I press clone, it makes another identical track that is the same labelled #2 kick? It didn't do that for you, why?
please i am a complete biginner in beat making, i have only watch the first different videos i need ordes at which i should watch the videos so i dont get lost please i need your help on that
This really just did not work. My mix still clips like crazy when I export. I made sure the master level was below 0 for the entire mix yet still my clipping is terrible in the .wav file.
yea cuz if you amp the volume after the clip it will go over your desired volume. for example if you set soft clip to limit the sound at-12db then pump it with a pre amp it will go over and you kinda lose the punchiness
there is one thing that I don't understand. Soft clipping ads harmonics to the sound so the kick will have less low end energie and will sound less powerful, no?
it should be noted that with proper compression/eq the soft clipper (and or/any other limiter, really) is obsolete if you take good care of your dynamics. but I suppose the genre you used for this example indicates the audience type (and thus knowledge) pretty well
Somehow I wandered into this channel.. I'm sure there is a lot of good advice, but 2/2 now... Don't want to clip? Want louder, fuller drums? #1-most overated sample/bass/drum=SAMPLED* 808! When resampled it's terrible! A kick drum that is problematic is going to be WAY worse with bouncy bass! That's a big reason to clip-most 808s, if used, turn it down! Half @ loudest! Then you have to be careful with kick drum selection-which is why I won't use most 808 sounds that were "SAMPLED", especially if included with a kit or software-that said, you can cut the release on kicks, do done layering at lower volumes-even going farther with panning & the key if it-3 soft kicks, one at a higher hey, mid, & low(er, not too low or you'll clip again!)Or with 2/take the high and low and pan one on each side, the middle not panned=full, louder, layered kick(play w/ it, don't want a highly noticable pan). Same with your snares...I usually ALWAYS use one layer snare at a higher octave than the main-that with a good, quiet splash can create a great snare (1more great is a high bamboo/picalo). Hats, soft crashes/rides can make an incredible difference-again, layering with the snare advice I personally prefer-1 thing that is HUGE is a lower keyclosed hat layered(open HH can be good lower occasionally too). Only thing I will emphasize though-layered drums can be your best feature-it your worst. Like most say, you can do TOO MUCH. Finding that cut off is BIG. Although this obviously takes a little longer, it usually helps..& when having layers at lower levels, it will result being louder & shouldn't clip, unless your computer is very old with a terrible soundcard. Last advise us if you continually have clipping issues, try to bounce (sorry, EXPORT?) either the drums solo or problem ones/each drum to isolate it. Not fun, but when I am not using hardware, I tend to do this to mess with it regardless. I don't know when it became standard to take as little time possible, depending on ___ I can work on a beat for hours/day(s)/week, even come back-especially if sorry a record release or for a artist I love to work with. Once again, I've prayed an essay long remark on this channel when hearing some advice I wasn't find of-wish I was more open to doing tutorials, buy it took me 18 years to find my current style & not only time being a problem, but I can only say so much until my originality isn't me I guess. On that note, I'll turn the channel so I don't keep replying and have these guys think I have a problem with the channel itself.. Just heard both times advice I couldn't just let a person in the fog adopt. Peace, wish EVERYONE to make their best to give me new stuff to enjoy hearing!

Thank You. You're the best!
You can also use Fruity Gain on the channel:) place fruity Gain before your spft clipper ( fruity Gain is simply an volume gain plugin)

for the next tutorial can you teach us how to make a drum kit(how to mix the drums, master them, and at what volume to extract the sounds)

What I have to do first eq or soft clipper?thank you
5:47 is where he shows the trick
Busy come on 📻🎶🎶🎶
do you know what type if plugin is equivalent to the volume multiplier in other daws such as logic?
bro thanks so much

I want that triangle sound so bad 😫😤

Can you make this but for ableton (drums and Bass)
Great video bro it's 6 am watching this before I sleep so when I get up I can do it to my beats thanks again...I'm gonna go to ur site period
Question, what plugins in Logic Pro are similar to Fruity Soft Clipper?
cant you just use gclip as a vst?
“Looks like its on steroids” had me dead
Video going in depth of how soft clipping and fruity soft clipper works?
Would that work with a different plugin?
This really just did not work. My mix still clips like crazy when I export. I made sure the master level was below 0 for the entire mix yet still my clipping is terrible in the .wav file.
im having the same problem
@@Meezygod yo i fixed it just look up internet money gain staging it saved my beat
Please how do I get the busy works beats drum kit
To make my kick harder I sidechain the bass by the kick
This is a great trick too.
@@DJAbillitea It's not really a trick. It's standard. Unless you're a newb 👌
how would I do this in ableton?
Glue compressor my man
So this principal works for all sounds? Melody, drums, and everything else?
I use soft clipper on mastering process. Is it the same thing?
Did you pitch shift your voice lower?
can you do it in presonus studio one
First one best man love you no homo🤣
Sir please make a video on mastering
Any specific reason you're using this limiter? I.e. could I achieve something similar with the stock logic limiter?
Pre amps always go before the soft clip right?
yea cuz if you amp the volume after the clip it will go over your desired volume. for example if you set soft clip to limit the sound at-12db then pump it with a pre amp it will go over and you kinda lose the punchiness
Song structures?
i was about to talk all type of shit until 8 min mark hit :)
Yo Busaaay!
So why a soft clipper and not a limiter?
my sound is most of the times in the red and when I done mixing it is not going higher than -10 db. feels bad....
Have your speakers or headphones turned up higher and mix at lower levels in your daw. Itll help with that.
is there a wrench tool in fl studio 11?
there is one thing that I don't understand. Soft clipping ads harmonics to the sound so the kick will have less low end energie and will sound less powerful, no?
Emilien thevenin we hear high frequencies easier than low, it'll sound louder.
What is clipping?
Can I have this FLP ?
it should be noted that with proper compression/eq the soft clipper (and or/any other limiter, really) is obsolete if you take good care of your dynamics. but I suppose the genre you used for this example indicates the audience type (and thus knowledge) pretty well
