      I think they all 3 realized they all loved one another. It’s a movie about a throuple. Art got with Tashi because he low key jealousy loved Patrick, and thought Patrick loved tashi so he started drama to break them up. But Patrick loved both tashi and art. And tashi loves both of her little white boys. So im sure at the end they all realized how better they are with them 3 together.

I would’ve liked to have seen what happens tho does she keep her promise to go coach Patrick ? Probably not think she was playing him too, maybe Art decides to leave because she cheated again i hope so

    I think the winner was tennis...! Doesn't matter who won. The girl said that tennis is like making love...and the boys clearly did this in their final game...the girl had lost her passion...her husband was mediocre...her ex was looser...but man this tennis game was -finally-superb that's why she screamed after so many years. Lastly yes i do think the boys hug was a nod they were in love and they make up for their past differences

      My interpretation is that in that moment he was finally free of her influence.
      She was using him as an avatar so that she could keep being involved in tennis. His friend by telling on her freed him from her.
      Then they finally are free of her control and just play the game for the love of it at the end allowing them to fully understand each other fully and reconcile through the connection of competition.
      Ironically, even though they gave Tashi the middle finger and went off script they were able to play some amazing tennis and cause her to “tennisgasm “ at the end because overall she just wanted to “watch some some good fucking tennis” like she said earlier in the movie.

    My theory is Art won because he is a better player (champion) and in the final few minutes he got his confidence back. I think what works about the ending is that the outcome of the match doesn’t matter to any of the characters. On a sports level Art and Patrick are both going to keep playing for at least another season, but this is less important than what happens to the character dynamics. By the end we realize that all three of these characters will always be in each others lives, either with a continuation of the current dysfunctional relationship and occasional cheating situation (perhaps with Art essentially repressing what he knows is periodically going on), or perhaps they will finally get to have the threesome they’ve been putting off for two decades and pursue some sort of an open marriage arrangement. In any case, it seems clear that these three characters can’t stay away from each other and all realize this simultaneously at the exact moment of the story’s conclusion.

    Everybody won. This movie is an absolutely brilliant allegory for the battle between the light and the dark within each man and the psychological power that his lover/partner has in influencing the outcome of this contest. It also has something to say about integration and balance and what the ideal of masculinity should be. Nothing in this movie is just what it seems to be. Everything here--food, clothing, hair color, body language and movement, etc.--is a symbol for something else.

    Great breakdown! Twas such a build up before the film! I feel it was a lil sloppy for my tastes! I feel like there could have been better individual character development into the reasoning for the consistent infidelity. I think there were only a handful of actors with speaking roles in the movie. So, maybe developing the daughter or the mother more. The daughter in respects to is she on the tennis path, is she Arts child or Pats, does the child have more affinity for Tash, Art, or Pat(with Mannerisms of the child alluding to Pats possible paternity).Or, have two children one that resembles Art and one for Pat(adhering to the Atlanta tryst)I think the daughter was in like 2 scenes, one speaking role, the mother one, i could be mistaken. I mean twas a whole 2 hours, with at least an hour of just unnecessary fluff.
    Wasn't a fan of arts wimpyness if you will (I mean he whole saw them turned around then poof they were missing) no way a wedding happens. Then doesn't explain why between Atlanta and present day she would still harbor animosity towards Pat(which could have been rectified if they showed it was because of possible paternity.
    I was confused as to Art's (tell) imma have to go back and re-absorb that scene.. i thought he was just telling art, that art does that on his serves etc..
    Just sloppy as their infatuation for one female, her in-betweeness. It's 2024 if they wanted to promote a polygamous situationship go ahead and do that.
    The ending was a lil drawn out to me with improper closing. If I was having dinner, some vegan meatball Alfredo with some sweet onion sauce from Subway. Upon eating the majority of the meal is delicious/ok'ish and I had one bite left to solidify whatever feelings i have towards it and for what ever reason, I dont get closure to the meal. The film deprived me of that last bite.
    Enjoyable film though

      The film did touch on how the men’s sexuality was formed. Art had his first orgasm with Patrick, over the same girl. Those early experiences can shape our sexuality a great deal. I think the infidelity was further explained in the constant competition between the two men. Both had a lot to gain from a relationship with her. The men were also sent away to boarding school, so their relationships with their mothers may have been distant, further explaining their attraction to a cold narcissistic woman. I liked the subtlety of the characterization, for me it was enough.

      I stand corrected of my previous comment. They both (especially Art) give Tashi a middle finger, Art realizes how she is unworthy of his love but that he still can play tennis, that is why he smiles and even hugs his former friend, and is excited about a life of freedom and possibilities (professional and romantic) without Tashi.

  • @NotAveryJay
    @NotAveryJay Месяц назад

    I thought Tashi pretty much one at the end of it. She did say she’d have sex with him if it meant Art would win the match. You can see her getting anxious when art basically forfeits the set to Patrick because it looks like he might lose. Then Art rages out and “gets his spark back” which is what Tashi wanted but at that point Patrick isn’t trying to lose anymore, they’re both going at it at 100% and Tashi is panicking. Then Art ultimately wins, which is what Tashi wanted but also at the same time he got his spark back and won because of his skill and not because Patrick let him, which is also what Tashi wanted

    • @haitiankid9456
      @haitiankid9456 Месяц назад

      Kinda idk I think they both realized she was manipulating them and stopped competing for her love and just played good tennis like good old friends, I think although she did win in the sense that she got to enjoy good tennis, she ultimately loses because no way Art takes her back after he found out she was cheating, maybe Patrick still accepts her as his coach but it seems like he said fuck her too since he decided to tell Art the truth with the hand sign, so I think both are over her
