Thank you for highlighting the process of both creating and dismantling through the angle of emotional investment. Inspiration/idea, entanglement/production, and reflection/letting go would seem like an exhausting journey. However, you say that once the process was done new ideas have arisen. I will try this with my own work. Looking forward to yours.
It's amazing how similar to a piece I'm doing at the moment this resemble. And to think of those details about how you feel about your art is truly inspiring too to become more true to myself and my art as well. Thank you for being a beacon of inspiration and also an emotional and down on earth you are with the mindset necessary for making the art you do. Amazing.
Thnk you very much for doing this Jono, my respect for you has grown manifold. All that an artist does in a studio isn't about beautiful images and outcomes. It's alot of pain, alot of giving up on things and alot of frustrations. Sometimes when a window is opened into this, it really rejuvenates us as creatives.
1. Taste is subjective. 2. We learn from our 'mistakes'. 3. If you lost your will and desire to create from this, then THAT would have been a problem... but you didn't. Keep on going. It's all lovely.
I think you should've went with it Jono! I see many strange art installations at the Whitney and sometimes wonder why? But if it makes me sit and think about it then it did it's job : )
We learn more from things that don't work than those that do. Never stop learning. Your work is amazing.

Failure?? You (and all those who assisted) expanded consciousness exponentially. That can never be a failure. 💜
