The song was co-written by Trey Lewis, Trannie Anderson and Jordan Walker, Cole was 11 years old when his parents got divorce, my parents got divorce in 1998, but they remaining on speaking terms up till the day my dad died .

My son Collin was 4 when his mother and I got the divorce. 3 days after she left, when I was taking him back to his mother's house, he asked me "daddy, why are WE getting a divorce?". A 4 year old should not have to ask that question. We have been divorced for 6 years now and she still uses the boys as pawns in whatever vendetta she has out for me. WTF!
