I can't wait till you see what I have planned for these projects! For now I hope you enjoyed the sneak peek. What do you think I should do with the 150 gallon cube aquarium and the lower 16 gallon tank? Also, do you like a vlog style video like this? I may try to add a second upload per week and videos like this would make sense. Let me know!
The blog style is great, and would work really well for a second upload. I would definitely keep the 150 cube. It's a unique footprint that gives you lots of options. It has also been around awhile, and the room wouldn't be the same without it.
How about for the lower 16 gallon a desert themed terrarium, you mostly work with tropical and temperate scapes why not go from something a little hotter, lol
I think you should create yourself a little 2D to scale model of the room and all the furniture so you can play with moving things around. My roommate and I did this in college because we were having trouble deciding how to arrange things. 👍
Leftover box: *exists* Mr. Serpa: It's free wood and screws. Seriously, I never would have thought to reuse the screws from shipping box. I'll keep that one in mind.
I see that cube tank as more of like an "island" in the center of the room, with a scape in the center that you could see from all 4 sides instead of three.
I look forward to your work! I am making a terrarium in Korea and you are like my teacher. There are not many people in Korea who know the terrarium, but I want many people to be with nature.
Congrats man, I’m so happy companies are starting to support your channel. I would take well over 3 months to just plan out a scape that large. Again congratulations, you deserve this.
This looks really exciting! Can't wait to see what you'll do with it. Gotta say, love your attitude of not letting any of the packaging materials go to waste and I'd like to see it if you make something of it! As for things you haven't done and probably won't have time for now with all your plans haha... In the future though, I would love to see you make a tank or terrarium furniture of some kind (writing desk, shelving unit or something, whether you make it from scratch or modify it is not really important) that is practical, but beautiful and that allows you to literally bring nature into your daily life. It might be a little tricky, but I think it would be very interesting.
Pretty sweet setups you got going on there! Have you thought about doing a brackish water set up? I haven't really seen any heavily planted systems. Would be interesting to see what you come up with.
Same! I’m an artist that got the fish fever a couple years ago. For some reason I’ve never done fish paintings! I totally should. I’d be able to paint cooler scapes than the ones I’ve made irl 😂
I like coming back and rewatching these older videos and just seeing how things have changed in your style and life. Struggling to find space for the new tank in your animal room makes me excited to see what you will accomplish with your new place.
Seeing the animal room coming together, the well-deserved sponsorships, and everything else coming together to let you live your dream makes my heart so happy! If anyone deserves it it's you.
I love the rustic impression your new stand has. Beneath the soon-to-be-updated danio tank, I can imagine a vampire crabitat with a Wabi Kusa-style island peppered with some woods would look awesome. For that, a somewhat shallower tank would do the trick.
I've been watching this channel for many years, found it years ago when I was researching how to make a false bottom. I always thought the "Serpa" in Serpa Design meant snakes because of your creatures. LOL. And now I find it even more interesting that your last name is Serpa and you keep snakes.
That tank is incredible! Even seeing it empty it’s very imposing, it’s gonna be beautiful. I really enjoy your vlogs, plus it’s a good way for us to keep up with your projects.
I think for the cube tank, maybe do a SALTWATER PALLADARIUM, what do I mean by that? a reef towards the front, with a peninsula towards the back with land for crabs and such to be able to be on land, or maybe a saltwater/brackish water turtle? diamondback terrapin? and put that in with the saltwater tank, or a brackish setup for a terrapin?
I would watch you sweep your floor; I'm sure I would learn something from it. But it all seriousness, yes I would like to see you build and paint your stand. I think a reef would be amazing for your cube tank, but again I would watch just about any of your projects. Can't wait to see your new one come together too.
Ok tanner, I know the perfect spot for this beautiful tank! Put it in your living room, where you see it every day and can enjoy it. You just told us this is your dream built so give it a dream spot!
I would love to see the video of you painting the 36x36x28 tank! Also love the idea of the same color wood and the room being an experience. -- my favorite videos are watching you scape and build but these updates are great !!!
Hi Serpa I've had a dream for aprox. 10 years, to create a vivarium/paludarium for a couple of garter snakes and a little school of small fish, like the Danio species. I wish you would create one before I get into the project though ;) The thing I like about the idea is, that the garter snake is so active compared to other animals in the same category, so it will always be entertaining to watch this setup. Plus it's so easy to feed and care for. Obviously the setup will need a lot of hiding spots for the fish, because they live with predators and the snakes will need a lot of ventilation and basking spots, so the water part won't make it too humid for them - but if it's big enough, I think all this could be incorporated quite nicely. One of your best videos ever made, is the fire-bellied toad setup video, so I hope you will make more videos with setups like that - for example a garter snake paludarium setup :D Cheers!
If you’ve been considering saltwater I would be interested in seeing how you would setup a brackish or rock pool biotope. There are some really cool gobies that I think would really fit into your fish aesthetic and it would be more unique but still fit in with the rest of the room.
Knots can be points of failure & diminish structural integrity. Make sure it/they don't 'need' to support a critical mass or joint. I agree they add character to a piece just don't rely on them.
I would love to see the 150 get turned into a reef tank! It’s different from all of your other setups, and maybe you could get seahorse or something truly unique! Also anxiously awaiting Dude’s new setup!!!
for moving the big tank I'd recommend first putting a couple of 2x4s lengthwise under it to increase the rigidity of the base then use levers and rollers (maybe a couple of furniture dollies) to get it into the house and into the animal room then using lots of blocks of wood and either a lever or a jack raise one end then the other 2-4" at a time till you've got it high enough to wiggle onto the stand. I've moved a number of heavy things by myself over the years and the trick is mechanical advantage and patience :)
Loved the tour round your room and hearing of your future projects. I love the care that you take with your animals and plants alike - your posts are always interesting and informative as well a being incredibly beautiful.
Wow, that paludarium is amazing. What a great opportunity to work with Custom Tanks they are awesome. Cant wait to see what you do with all of this space. I know it will be EPIC as always. Ive watched your growth and it is so deserving. You bring so many amazing things large and small/nano to the hobby.
You should totally do the video of the paintings! Also a brackish water pallidarium would be cool in the cube. Maybe have a piece of wood that looks like a tree with roots growing into the water.
On the 16 G stand I like how you have an overhang at the top to suspend lighting from to light up the shelves and possibly the tank below. Also the plywood part of the stand above the lower tank area can be used for lighting as well.
The 150 gallon cube would make a crazy dart frog community tank. I love the look of a peninsula dart frog tank, and I could live vicariously through you. You could even reach out to companies like Josh’s frogs for a co-lab video. I think that would be nuts!
U r really great artist....you have so many ideas in mind... keep it up ... New tank is huge in size..now we wait for new set up ..you have so many tanks in room... you r genius.. happy fish keeping
For the 150 cube a paludarium for a group of D. Leucomelas with a small waterfall that runs from the top of the tank all the way down to a little stream and maybe shallow pond at the front with lots of larger wood pieces coming out of the back like uprooted base of a fallen tree with lots of plants among the roots would be so cool!! As for the lower 16g tank a small group of fancy guppies would be awesome
Having seen most of your videos, I can say you have changed a good bit in your style, but I came to notice things, such as when you've been busy. You are very talented, able to DIY most things. I'm not surprised this video was an update, cause you've been working hard
Wow, you are a talented artist as well. About design of the fish room. First, I love that green wall color. It's my favorite. So soothing. I think it's a good idea for the furniture to be similar in color so as not to distract from your tank designs but I don't believe the shape of the tanks need to fit in because the cube tank just adds another individual piece of art which stands on it's own merit and makes things interesting. Also, the new placement you suggested seems like a good idea so that it takes advantage of the side views. The big tank will also look great where your desk is centered on that wall as a showcase to create a focal point in the room. Slowly, you are pushing yourself out. Soon you will have to build an extension onto your room. Maybe convert the garage. Then you don't have to move the big tank. lol.
The cube tank is really awesome. What about making a real feature out of it and having a land/wood mass that comes right up out of the top sort of like a mountain, and a lake around the base of the mountain inside of the tank so the whole thing looks like a miniature landscape with 270 degree views?
As always you come up with the most inspiring ideas! Can't wait to see what the new set up is going to look like. Rainforest or even a fantasy set up would be sweet.
that 150 cube tank would be cool with an island scape, and maybe used as a middle focal point in your 'pet room'..Idk just about idea but I love island scapes in cubed tanks like that because the fish interact with the scape and swim around it in circles. Absolutely amazing projects by the way!
That new palidarium is massive! I can’t wait to see what you have planned for it. I too ordered one of those Waterbox Clear 16s. Unfortunately it was delivered broken and I’m waiting for the replacement. It will take the place of a standard 10 gallon.
Ohhh with the big tank. Make a saltwater tank or palludarium! Would be amaizing to see!. Cant w8 what you have planed for the tank in the garage! Good luck with it!!!
my dude you should paint ALL the cabinets like those on that square aquarium. I'm a woodworker by heart and usually wouldn't condone painting nice wood, however for you purposes I think that would give it a totally awesome look. keep it up my dude
My suggestion for your other 16 gallon tank would be a neon tetra tank, they are a great tiny schooling fish that has a great pop of red and blue, I’ve kept them before and love the amount of movement and simplicity they have to them.
Hey from Australia 🇦🇺 I think that the 150 gallon cube tank would look absolutely awesome and fit in perfectly if you moved it to the other side of the door, as it would be by its self and fit in way more plus you would be able to see it from more places in the room either with a salt water one or I really like the idea of maybe a rainforest pond and also maybe your desk down in near there on that back wall but seriously pretty cool man cave! 💯🏆
On the last tank, I wish u would keep it just like it is. It’s crystal clear and just a beautiful tank. If anything maybe change up the fish. I’d love to see something with a little color on that white sand. Not sure how ur shrimp would do but they’d b pretty n there. I also love your stand it’s on. Those paintings r something I’d like to see more of 👍🏻
I love how your Vivarium/Aquarium/Paludarium Room is coming along! And I LOVE your new 150 gal Cube aquarium! I'm so curious to see what you are going to be creating with this setup! CAN'T WAIT!!!! Can you do a Project where you create a Mountainside 'Cloud Forest' Theme with waterfall Paludarium for Pitcher-plants, Orchids and even ferns and Bromeliads with Hillstream fish (which are commonly found in Mountainous area - henst the name 'hillstream') at the bottom of the set up? I would love it, if you could show us how we can create a habitat for extreme 'specialist' species such has 'Hillstream fish' or 'Cloud Forest' plants that require specific Neches or Micro-climates to thrive. I feel that the conservation of rare and endangered species is becoming more and more important everyday, by the minuet. And people like you are some of the best example of how we all can become Conservationist of today by keeping our species whether fauna or flora in suitable, ecological diversity and appealing habitats. I personally feel that you are such an amazing teacher and have the necessary tools and creativity to teach us how we can at least learn and get ideas how we can create habitats for the species that we keep and possible wish to breed in the near future to maintain viable, genetically healthy and happy populations for many generations to come.
Holy smokes.. that thing is Awsome. Such a great size to creat something epic and to have so much detaila and different sections etc.. take ur time and take us along for every step : )
I can't wait till you see what I have planned for these projects! For now I hope you enjoyed the sneak peek. What do you think I should do with the 150 gallon cube aquarium and the lower 16 gallon tank? Also, do you like a vlog style video like this? If you need help moving it, I live in Moon Township and would love to help you get it where you need it!!!
How about for the lower 16 gallon a desert themed terrarium, you mostly work with tropical and temperate scapes why not go from something a little hotter, lol
SerpaDesign can you Gmail me I want to talk with you
You finally need your first ant colony! Let me know and I can hook it up!
I would love to see a collab between you two!! 😀♥️
That's gonna hold a lot of ants!🤣
Ohhh yes
YOS
Bms0441 they did one at Christmas
I’m building a paludarium at my house and I’ve realized that you make it look so easy. I have so much more respect for you and others that do this.
Thank you very much!
Keep at it! We can’t all have magic hands like tanner but its so satisfying once you complete it.
So do 151 people believe in me or have the same problem?
@@migratingeagle5497 i believe for you and me lol
I really think a nice saltwater tank would be cool in the cube. Maybe a live mangrove setup and not a reef? Something more your style
Nick Harris yes mangrove!!
Macroalgae?
@@naturesfinest2408 oh, a good macro would be cool. I just feel like the aesthetic of a reef tank doesn't match Tanner's aesthetic as much
A mangrove and macroalgae tank would be cool, or maybe a rock pool tank with local creatures or maybe a mudskipper and fiddler crab paludarium!
Add it to the list of things I've learned from Tanner:
16 is less than 20 but more than 10.
Sean Fisher I should be taking notes
Man we learn math here too!
Look at them paintings 😱 is there limits to this man's talent?
Darryl Gretton
looks like he’s been watching Bob Ross 🥰
There doesn't seem to be, does there?
No
THE WAY YOU DREW THE LOGO WAS SO SATISFYING OMG!!
I think you should create yourself a little 2D to scale model of the room and all the furniture so you can play with moving things around. My roommate and I did this in college because we were having trouble deciding how to arrange things. 👍
I actually have a floor plan mapped out on my computer where I do exactly that! It definitely helps.
I would love to see a vampire crab paludarium in the 16 gallon tank, that would be really nice
Keep the cube! You'll find a spot, it's definitely a "you" tank!
Leftover box: *exists*
Mr. Serpa: It's free wood and screws.
Seriously, I never would have thought to reuse the screws from shipping box. I'll keep that one in mind.
Really? :o what do you do with it then, just throw them away? Those are usually really clean and reusable!
Around our house we even straighten nails for reuse...lol
That tank is a beast.... This will be a sweet build, cant wait.
05:12 I'd move the desk in the back in the corner and have the new beautiful tank up front. Can't wait to see the end product!
I see that cube tank as more of like an "island" in the center of the room, with a scape in the center that you could see from all 4 sides instead of three.

I would watch art.
I second that! I would love to see some videos on your other art forms!

It's way too heavy to go upstairs. Plus I don't spend as much time in the living room anyway 😉
I would love to see the video of you painting the 36x36x28 tank! Also love the idea of the same color wood and the room being an experience. -- my favorite videos are watching you scape and build but these updates are great !!!

YES!! TURN THE 150 INTO A REEF TANK!
I would love to see what you could do aquascaping a reef aquarium. SPS corals are the bonsai trees of the ocean.
I would love to see the video of the painting of the cabinet. Can't wait to see what you do with the new massive tank!
I would love to see the video of the paintings that would be cool also a salt water scape would be cool
I would love to see the 150 get turned into a reef tank! It’s different from all of your other setups, and maybe you could get seahorse or something truly unique! Also anxiously awaiting Dude’s new setup!!!
Please whatever your planning on doing with it, make it fast cause I can't wait at all
I'm totally seeing coral in that cube aquarium!
Yes
for moving the big tank I'd recommend first putting a couple of 2x4s lengthwise under it to increase the rigidity of the base then use levers and rollers (maybe a couple of furniture dollies) to get it into the house and into the animal room

Yes to keeping the 150, as I'd love to see what you do with saltwater, and yes to seeing you do artwork, like with paint as well lol
What an amazing enclosure! Thanks Tanner, your channel is AWESOME!
100% want to see the video of you painting the tank stand. Thatd be so cool!
Wow, that stand with your paintings is beautiful!
You are insanely talented Tanner, those paintings are beautiful
Definitely would love to see video of the beautiful paintings on that stand!
Loved the tour round your room and hearing of your future projects. I love the care that you take with your animals and plants alike - your posts are always interesting and informative as well a being incredibly beautiful.
Dude, you’re such a badass. Been following you for awhile. Missed those paintings before though. Beautiful craftsmanship man.
I would love to see more of your traditional artwork! Those paintings are stellar
You should totally do the video of the paintings! Also a brackish water pallidarium would be cool in the cube. Maybe have a piece of wood that looks like a tree with roots growing into the water.
Looks like an epic project; can't wait to see this take shape! Hats off to Custom Aquariums for hooking you up too!
Good luck moving it into place XD
One day you should definitely make a large walk in terrarium outside. That would be amazing to see your skills in something of that scale.
Yes! I've been waiting for you to start a project like this. I want something big in my house but dont know where or how to start.
On the 16 G stand I like how you have an overhang at the top to suspend lighting from to light up the shelves and possibly the tank below. Also the plywood part of the stand above the lower tank area can be used for lighting as well.
Can’t wait just started my second 10 gallon paludarium thanks to all your help and videos
waste not, want not !!! tanner, you are incredible !!! :)
Exactly! 😁
Your painting are fantastic as well! Can’t wait to see future tanks
Wow! That thing is huge! I don't envy you moving that! I do however want to see what you will do with it!
this guy... not only can he make awesome designs, he can paint too. Keep up the great work! been following this channel for a while.
I would definitely be down for some art videos! Those paintings were beautiful, also can't wait to see that beast set up!
The 150 gallon cube would make a crazy dart frog community tank. I love the look of a peninsula dart frog tank, and I could live vicariously through you. You could even reach out to companies like Josh’s frogs for a co-lab video. I think that would be nuts!
That custom tank is incredible!!!
U r really great artist....you have so many ideas in mind... keep it up ... New tank is huge in size..now we wait for new set up ..you have so many tanks in room... you r genius.. happy fish keeping

I'm so excited for all the new things you have planned!
I love watching your paludarium builds. Very excited to see how this one turns out!
Right after a nano tank too. This is so freaking exciting!
Looking forward to what you create in this!!
that 150 cube tank would be cool with an island scape, and maybe used as a middle focal point in your 'pet room'..Idk just about idea but I love island scapes in cubed tanks like that because the fish interact with the scape and swim around it in circles. Absolutely amazing projects by the way!
I would LOVE to see you do a reef tank, and am also fascinated by your paintings.
Did anyone else actually squeak when they saw how big the new tank is? I'm unbelievably excited!
I didnt know you can paint!! They look amazing, I'm pretty sure all of your viewers would LOVE to have a video on your art
Excited to see how this progresses
Please keep the huge aquarium! It’s one of my favorites and it adds a lot of character to the animal room!
my dude you should paint ALL the cabinets like those on that square aquarium. I'm a woodworker by heart and usually wouldn't condone painting nice wood, however for you purposes I think that would give it a totally awesome look. keep it up my dude
Looking forward seeing that big boy.
Those paintings are BEAUTIFUL
I really enjoy the perspectives from the 150 cube. But it turns out it’s a piece of art too, I’d keep it. 👍
u have the best vids ever. best aquascaping account on youtube. the taste >>>>>
Freshwater Crab island/center mountain paludarium in the cube!!! You gotta keep it, the stand it too cool!
My suggestion for your other 16 gallon tank would be a neon tetra tank, they are a great tiny schooling fish that has a great pop of red and blue, I’ve kept them before and love the amount of movement and simplicity they have to them.
I cannot wait to see what you're going to do with it!
YES! Definetly do some bob ross paint videos! I already love this channel and that would make it even more my fave
I wouldnt get rid of the cube tank, thats a beautiful tank brother and that painted stand is awesome.
That 150 would make an awesome Mangrove Lagoon or a Circulating Tidal Pool
wow, tanner. you have set yourself up for quite a few goals this year. wishing you much success in fore-filling your dreamscapes. regards, cp.

For the 150 do a turtle tank! Maybe try some eastern painted turtles. For the other 16 do some serpea tetras
Keep the cube! It's an awesome tank!
Holy smokes.. that thing is Awsome. Such a great size to creat something epic and to have so much detaila and different sections etc.. take ur time and take us along for every step : )
