My wife and I relocated to Morelia, Michoacan, three years ago. I find Mexico every bit as free as in the States! There's a lot less stress and far fewer regulations. The culture, people, architecture, food, the lower cost of living are just some of the positives. It's proven to be the best move I've ever made! I'm never going back! VIVA MEXICO 🇲🇽

It seems this is sorely needed, esp in the US. On a different note I was really impressed with your microphones. I could see it was quite windy where you were but your voices were crystal clear. No background noise. So much better than those huge clunky mics people use for podcasts!

Hmmm. These Tulum vids are making it clear to me that the places Kristen gravitates toward are not the same as those I would. The whole techie, 'spiritual,' burning man, dj, party scene, etc. is a social scene I feel very averse to. I remember Kristen saying in, I think her Liverpool (?,) video that in all her years abroad it was the first non-touristic place she had lived. Maybe this explains some of the difference. I prefer a more mature, worldly, socially conscious (in the sense of being aware of things like local culture, social justice issues, climate science) crowd with their feet planted on on solid ground. Not sure if I'll be able to find my people (gearing up for long term travel for the first time in a very long time), but I know that the kinds of expat bubbles that resonate with Kristen are scenes I want to avoid both in the U.S. and abroad. Maybe Kristen's videos will have more value to me to allow me to make note of some places to avoid. Didn't listen too far in to this one. Different strokes for different folks.
Agree. I go somewhere to enjoy those people and what they offer. When I moved to Australia in the '90s, I completely avoided Americans. This kind of stuff is not for me. Spiritual with salsa music, sorry. And did you hear, he screwed over whomever he leased from, and walked out on his contract/lease. That's the kind of person I want to hang with... Not. I've been to Mexico City and walked around quite a bit in different neighborhoods. I felt safe but it definitely depends where you are. I felt less safe in Brazil, where it was also recommended not to walk at any time of day.
NYC is lethal now yet people constantly panic about Latin American cities, use common sense and avoid very expensive jewellery using 1500 dollar phones in poverty stricken places and you tend to be fine. I lived in Mexico for 2 years, Brazil 3 and have been in Argentina a while in all that time I was short changed by a taxi driver that’s all. Visited New York last year for the first time in years and was threatened by my Airbnb host, watched a customer pull a gun on a barman in Times Square and had a junkie demand cash with a loaded syringe at 6am on the subway in one week.

Salsa dancers have quite a worldwide community. I used to go to annual Salsa Congresses in San Francisco that drew over 2,000 dancers, teachers, and musicians from all over the world. I’m 68 and have been salsa dancing for over 25 years. I am still doing it in here in Bangkok, Thailand.
Tulum is a magical place, I've heard of it like 10 years ago, lots of yoga folks back in the day, super mellow. Not sure now it's getting gentrified and expensive.
Coffee has some really good benefits!! a cup or two a day for most people is fine or even optimal. Unless it doesn’t make you feel good…. It has good benefits for cognitive ability and even circulation…
If someone needs stimulants to have optimal cognitive ability, I feel sorry for them. If you have circulatory problems, there are drugs to deal with that, which don't screw with your brain. Maybe they should just accept there are people a few ticks brighter than them. Side effects of caffeine can include many things, right up to death from it triggering heart arrythmias in some people. I had to quit caffeine at age 37 due to a heart arrythmia being triggered mostly by 3 things: caffeine, fatigue, and lack of sleep. After becoming "clean" of caffeine (which took several months of weaning off, after going cold turkey was not handled well by my body) I gained the perspective that I'd spent decades in slightly altered states of health and being, and that it had been a mistake. Most people don't even know what their natural state is, because they are addicted to one or more things which affect them more than they think. I'm not saying it's terrible to have a caffeine addiction disguised as a love for coffee. I'm just saying that someone who doesn't give it up for probably about a year, doesn't even know what their baseline state without it even is. Same for alcohol. Just take a year off from having ANY. If you can't, maybe you have a problem, or at least are more affected by it than you think. Some years, I have two drinks all year, both during the Super Bowl, because my late great father rarely drank in his later years, but poured a beer for each of us at the start of each half. Other years, I have two drinks per week, or two drinks per day a couple of days per week. It is very different saying "I could stop anytime I want, I just don't want to" and actually knowing that you can stop anytime, because you have done so successfully every time you decided to.
I've gone to Vegas for 30yrs...six years ago I went while flowers were blooming (summer?) and no eye drop would fix the burning in my eyes. Went to clinic and found out l was reacting to the flowers...something locals don't get. Prescription relieved the eye burning. Be prepared for anything when you travel.

Yup! No problems living off the grid in Mexico. Koppen climate zone Cwa/Cwb. No problems having composting toilets, rain capture, raising chickens and rabbits and selling the products. Freedom!

This is a bad take and not great for your channel. This guy seems to think he lost "freedom" during the pandemic because he had to follow some basic public health measures. I'm assuming he's anti-vax too. Nobody is "free" to spread a deadly virus. But sure, Mexico is beautiful and the conversation should have been focused on that.
He's a bit like another guy she did in Mexico who was gosh...self-promoting, she got lots of complaints. He's better he's a east coast guy NJ they are more aggressive and vocal honestly, iti's a New York area thing. He's trying to do good it seems.
Bodily autonomy is not only a freedom but human right. Coercion is not only illegal but unethical. You have authority over what you do with YOUR body, not another person’s. EVERY drug has risks and it is up to the individual to choose whether they engage in the use of that particular drug or not. Some choose not to and for good reason. Not only is natural immunity the most robust, but the experimental drugs given left many with negative health outcomes. Perhaps YOU don’t value basic human rights and freedoms or understand how the sick care system of the West actually operates, but some do and find these takes invaluable 🤷♀️ Also, the inflation we’re currently experiencing: you can thank the “basic public health measures” for that. They didn’t work, but what does that matter to you?

It was a condition for certain employment and military service (just like military are required to get other vaccines). 3- All medicine is about risk vs benefit. If something has a very low risk vs a great benefit, then you go with the beneficial outcome. There was NO natural immunity to SARS-COV2. 4- Your freedom to throw a punch ends where my face begins. You're not allowed to spread a deadly virus. 5- You're not entitled to your opinion. You're entitled to what you can PROVE. Show a study that indicates people have a "good reason". Since you're worried about bodily autonomy, I'm sure you're pro-choice, right?

Yes I like some of the freedoms of Mexico .Some examples you can sell food right out of your kitchen ,Garage,porch,yard .You can build on your house without permits unless of course you are in a historical area ,you can drink in public ,loud music no curfew .Of course it depends on the area etc etc.For the most part Authorities don't interfere.In The states if I snore or Fart too loud you risk your neighbors calling the police on you.
Are the people you are interviewing and moving to our country paying the taxes they need to as everyone else? I mean, a lot and I mean A LOT work remotely having their payrolls in US dollars and expending in mexican pesos, which is so convenient for them, but are they actually legally living here?
I"m guessing plant medicine is also a part of his story - microdosing 🍄 is helping me get centered and although I’m not a big drinker I’m finding that I don’t even want the casual drink anymore. It hasn't helped me with coffee yet , but I do think I’ll feel more healthy if I stop the coffee!

Wrong, when in Mexico, you are living in America. And no, it is not a third world; it is not NYC, Paris, or Hong Kong. It is Tulum. You must change your white-limited view of the world; that is where the problem is.
As politically incorrect as it may be, a lot of people around the world will only understand that you are referring to the U.S.("the United States of America") when you call it 'America.' Fyi, Mexico is also a 'United States.' It is the United States of Mexico. Sometimes you have to be practical and use language that the people you are communicating with will understand.
And let us not forget that ''America' is a European (Italian) name that was imposed upon two non-European continents (which, tragically, were viciously conquered, exploited and colonized by a variety of Europeans. There are layers to these problematic names/labels....
Mexico, like the United States, decentralized the COVID policies and left it to the states to decide. In the U.S. some states like Florida let go of the lockdowns after two months.
I'm not sure of the stats in Mexico but it's something I haven't seen on the streets there, while I have in California, Florida and Vancouver, Canada. But I've heard it's prominent in many large US cities
I always enjoy your interviews, Kristin! Michael has quite a story and is very interesting, the things that he has overcome in his life and now he is a self-help leader for men. However, he lost me when he called Mexico "third-worldish".
Spoken like a true American. At least you have been to double the amount of Countries most your countrymen have; ie 1 Country - the US. There are officially 30+ Countries freer than either the US or Mexico.

Hi David, I try to interview people from a range of ages and backgrounds without judging them. That's why I have over 200 interviews on my podcast (and counting). In California, I'm sure there are penalties for breaking one's lease, or perhaps he was on a month-to-month lease. Plans change in life. Bodily autonomy is not only a freedom but human right. Coercion is not only illegal but unethical. You have authority over what you do with YOUR body, not another person’s. EVERY drug has risks and it is up to the individual to choose whether they engage in the use of that particular drug or not. Some choose not to and for good reason. Not only is natural immunity the most robust, but the experimental drugs given left many with negative health outcomes. Perhaps YOU don’t value basic human rights and freedoms or understand how the sick care system of the West actually operates, but some do and find these takes invaluable 🤷♀️ Also, the inflation we’re currently experiencing: you can thank the “basic public health measures” for that. They didn’t work, but what does that matter to you?
@@blikewat3r 1- drugs and vaccines aren't the same thing. 2- At no time was anybody forced to get a vaccine against their will. It was a condition for certain employment and military service (just like military are required to get other vaccines). 3- All medicine is about risk vs benefit. If something has a very low risk vs a great benefit, then you go with the beneficial outcome. There was NO natural immunity to SARS-COV2. 4- Your freedom to throw a punch ends where my face begins. You're not allowed to spread a deadly virus. 5- You're not entitled to your opinion. You're entitled to what you can PROVE. Show a study that indicates people have a "good reason". Since you're worried about bodily autonomy, I'm sure you're pro-choice, right?

Yes I like some of the freedoms of Mexico .Some examples you can sell food right out of your kitchen ,Garage,porch,yard .You can build on your house without permits unless of course you are in a historical area ,you can drink in public ,loud music no curfew .Of course it depends on the area etc etc.For the most part Authorities don't interfere.In The states if I snore or Fart too loud you risk your neighbors calling the police on you.

Are the people you are interviewing and moving to our country paying the taxes they need to as everyone else? I mean, a lot and I mean A LOT work remotely having their payrolls in US dollars and expending in mexican pesos, which is so convenient for them, but are they actually legally living here?

I"m guessing plant medicine is also a part of his story - microdosing 🍄 is helping me get centered and although I’m not a big drinker I’m finding that I don’t even want the casual drink anymore. It hasn't helped me with coffee yet , but I do think I’ll feel more healthy if I stop the coffee!

As politically incorrect as it may be, a lot of people around the world will only understand that you are referring to the U.S.("the United States of America") when you call it 'America.' Fyi, Mexico is also a 'United States.' It is the United States of Mexico. Sometimes you have to be practical and use language that the people you are communicating with will understand.
And let us not forget that ''America' is a European (Italian) name that was imposed upon two non-European continents (which, tragically, were viciously conquered, exploited and colonized by a variety of Europeans. There are layers to these problematic names/labels....
Mexico, like the United States, decentralized the COVID policies and left it to the states to decide. In the U.S. some states like Florida let go of the lockdowns after two months.

I'm not sure of the stats in Mexico but it's something I haven't seen on the streets there, while I have in California, Florida and Vancouver, Canada. But I've heard it's prominent in many large US cities

Hi David, I try to interview people from a range of ages and backgrounds without judging them. That's why I have over 200 interviews on my podcast (and counting). In California, I'm sure there are penalties for breaking one's lease, or perhaps he was on a month-to-month lease. Plans change in life. As a landlord of multiple investment properties, I understand that.
