In part because no excuse is needed to be justified in setting a project like this aside, and in part because being unhappy with it is an excellent reason to leave. Its more about just the name, its the community that was built around the name. If he didnt make a new channel and a new start, he would forever be stuck with that "Just a jukebox" for other peoples music and his channel would have died without any way to recover because of the change in content. What he is doing is the right thing for his situation.
