  • The Bedford Cottages are a distinctive feature of Tavistock. The neat rows of model workers cottages were built by the Dukes of Bedford, and financed through the royalties they obtained from the local mining. The 300 Cottages are a wonderful reminder of the impact of mining on the area. For more information on how Cornish Mining shaped your world visit www.cornishmining.org.uk

Always makes me smile when I read the police column in the local paper, Tavistock times and gazette. this week the focus is upon a police officer who was assaulted by a man under arrest carryin a metal walking stick? WTF
The rest is a "broke into my house and stole some garden tools"? A town that has a nil acceptance of crime and exercises with publication of the offenders can only be a a model for the future.
