Battlefield 2's AK 101 was awsome
The stock design is actually really common in custom built rifle in the US. Its a thumb hole stock allowing a better grip on the rifle. It also reduces the weight, improving the mobility of the rifle for soldiers.
This seems more like a history channel for weapons in Battlefield... I like it , keep it up
Currently in Ru army is AK-74M. With M. Stands for Modernized (модернизированный). The most noticeble difference - it's all black like AK-12.
All those SVD-12, AKU-12, it's imaginary weapons that DICE implemented in order to have a "tree" of weapons of same type in every weapon class.
What aboud PP-19 (BF3, pdw from DLC), SR-2 (BF4, pdw), SVU (BFBC2, sniper rifle)?
First one is very original one, it have drum mag, A LOT of ammo, shots pistol bullets, and has parts from AK.

AKM's are not as used, but when they do they are suppressed, to compensate the 74's lack of kinetick power when suppressed. But they have been surpassed by the AK-103, the 7.62x39mm variant of the AK-100 series.
That is a lot of works. Good job.
I feel like a badass using the RPK-74m as a primary like an AR, and run heavy barrel and no optic, foregrip, or attachment. I have the mastery tag, and discovered I loved this gun with only heavy barrel within the first 200 kills. I'd love to see this in next year's title, not BFH.

You forgot to Mention the explosive RPG-7. Though you mentioned the Assault Rifles, SMG and Carbine Category pretty well.

The AS VAL(BF4) is my most used Russian weapon. Either that or the SKS(BF4).

I seem to like all of the Russian weapons in battlefield. I hate how the mp443 grach is poorly represented in call of duty ghosts, along with many other weapons.
the AK12 is basically the badass yet reliable grandson of the AK47!
But, for 2020 it's supposed that the AK-12 is going to replace AK-74M...Kalashnikov assured it.

The AK design was originally designed by the germans as the STG assault rifle, Hitler's technology was so advanced that most Russian Kalash weapons have been based off that ever since.
MrBrowseandupload nah... I never seen germans or americans make guns with wooden bits and stuff, and anyways, I got a feeling, they didn't even think of making anything similar to the AK but the Russians did :P

I totally love all russian weapons, but my favourites were AKM (BFH), PKP (BF3, BF4) and AK-47 (BFBC2) :) I hope, that in Battlefield: Bad Company 3 we will have acces to the old AK wooden design firing 7.62 bullets :)

C nope Phillips As I know, 47`s was not really mass-prodused, unlike 74 versions.
If you get really technical, the AK47 never existed it was the AK type 1, Type 2, and Type 3, then came along the AKM LightCrasher

No, it isn't. Just look at the pictures of "little green men" (Russian soldiers) near Crimea in 2014. All I see are Ak-74s. Russia doesn't have a whole lot of money either, so even if they DID actually want to replace the 74, there would be a long transitional period.
Parks Parks Check Wikipedia in late 2014 they decided to make the main assault rifle along side with A-545. But yse .it would be a long transitional period because of the current Russian economy.
