Molly Ringwald was on a roll, she got greedy and lazy, did this movie for the money and It was a her career ending faux paus. If she took the time to be selective she could've become a legit star instead of fizzling out, becoming terribly broke and addicted.

Stfu man. She still acts and is not broke. Still makes more than you could dream of

I agree. She sure went after the money for this one. This movie is absolutely abysmal. I felt like I was watching an excessively long educational video on family planning. Or an episode of Mormon stories.

Did nobody see Mommie Dearest? If they sign a contract, it's the studios decision. In the end, it's still a job, actors might have sway but not the final word sometimes

See now, this is the kind of ending that really annoys me. Stan had a chance for a real career, making real money. Instead he chose to cripple his life with a kid and wife, and he will be working low paid unskilled jobs forever, and years later, he will be sitting in bars getting drunk, thinking of all the opportunities he let get away. And for what? Love? Love that can disappear just like that when the woman decides she found someone better, so Stan loses their house and from his already small paycheck he has to pay alimony and child support and will ultimately become a nothing forever and ever?
Stuff like this makes me glad I am almost 50 and have no kids. I have a few nephews and nieces, that's close enough. I'll let my brother and sister shoulder the burden and expense, and I will just go visit the kids when it is convenient for ME, with no obligation. I know I sound like an asshole, but I have seen too many young people get their lives perma-screwed because they thought having a kid was a good idea. It is always the wrong choice under age 30!

I understand what your saying my kids are now 18 and 20 and my husband and I didn’t workout..I had them at 30 and I’m now 51 so I see where your coming from...Your just being in REALITY....SO TRUE...If you find someone that really loves you it’s RARE and your LUCKY?...peace

I like finding comments like these. I’m young-ish but still feel the same way about children as I did when I was in my teens. Thankfully I’m with someone older who has also never wanted kids. Sad that there are young people having kids by following impulses because they think they’re going to stay with their partner forever. People change, especially at that age. Perma-screwed is right.

I agree 10000000%. You're not, nor do you sound like an asshole. You're childfree, which is better than having children you never wanted, and regretting having them.
I've known since I was 5 (I'm 46 now) that children, and all the responsibilities that come with them wasn't something I wanted to tie myself down with.
