I really enjoy Shikari's "surprise song between albums" model
I love the touch that using a boat called Shikari, like the boat that inspired your name, gives to the video. Kind of like an easter egg. Song and video on point.
Jens Du Four Yeah I know, that's what I was saying, that it's like a tribute to the boat that inspired their name.
Madison Jackson Couldn't find anything besides the reference to their Jazz alter ego, Jonny and The Snipers.
Fun fact: If you check the credits, the boat crew for this crew includes Jim Reynolds, presumably Rou's uncle. Perhaps that is THE boat.
...Or maybe not.
always has to be one correcting wise-ass on each and every comment :D.
thetoobnoob Rou has already shown the original Shikari, sadly. looks nothing like this boat.
okay but imagine how difficult this was to film
If you still had doubts on how professional they are...
This is some amazing work.
in what way? looks kind of low budget to me, tbh
iamrichlol The shots being so smooth with such rough movement must have taken so many takes. Plus their own movement would have been made more difficult by the ocean as well. And getting some of those takes without anyone drowning must've been a miracle.
FORGOTTENMINDFREAK23
they were minutes from land with roys uncles boat that inspired the band's name
You mean to say other boats and stabilized camera systems don't exist...? Wow!
One of my favorite things about this band is that they can release something heavier like this or The Paddington Frisk and you can say "Yes, this is definitely an Enter Shikari song" and then they can release something softer like Redshift or Constellations and you still say "Yes, this is definitely an Enter Shikari song". Because this band has sound and a character that isn't limited to a genre and that's a great place for them to be creatively.
I see that Shikari brought all the essentials on the boat with them: A guitar, a bass and a drum kit, yet they somehow forgot clean water.
They're too punk for hydration
It's clearly all a mirage, song and all, brought on by him drinking salt water at the very beginning
Guess they're still lying on the ocean bed
lmao
"...cheeky fucka" :)
I'm so happy for this comment
I see what you did there. Nice.
I never comment on other posts, but bravo.
Sure. Brits out in the sun for 6 days without a sunburn.
Marc Wittkowski they're aussies haha
Oli Lion Are you serious? They're from St. Albans, England.
Marc Wittkowski seriously?? I could've sworn they were Australian
nope english lol
In england if you take a sunburn, you are very very veryyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyy Lucky 😂😂😂😂🤣🤣🤣
Is "cheeky fucker" going to be the new "oi fucks lets eat ere"
the new album will be nuts! iam so happy that they are heavy again!
Plotschn Tone This is a one-off, so I wouldn't count on it giving too much insight into the new album :)
Uh, when were they not heavy?
just redshift really. other than their acoustic stuff anyway
You need to realise that Shikari do not subscribe to just one sound, they have always had a huge diversity in their music and always will have. It's pointless comparing something like Redshift and this, the next song could be absolutely anything and it will be equally as amazing.
I mean their latest album had some of the heaviest moments.
I wont lie... I laughed at Rob at 0:35 furiously whupping those drums xD
These boys never fail to bring it, no matter what the style.
survival tips #107: if you get lost in the middle of sea, start singing
Galuh Suryanto only way not to go insane. You can talk about each other's lives only for so long when you are stuck in the middle of no where. Especially if your musicians, I'd be dying if we just did nothing other then paddle. (Which the instruments might I add)
Is it just me or did Rou get better at screaming?
Austin Thomas neither. hes always been legendary
Much better, doesn't seem to be inhaling anymore
Esp. comparing to 1st album >:D His cream was horrible.
yea man that cream was terrible, i've had way better
Brandon Chambers double or whipped, cheeky fuckaah
this is so sick, I'm glad how much they evolve with each song they create
Incredible metal/post-hardcore song. Shikari without electronics is the musical boundary that need to be more explored :)
THIS IS THE BEST SOUNDING SONG IVE HEARD FOR SUCH A LONG TIME OMFGGGGG
Must have been a pain shooting this.
seriously
MAD Films
What?
he's agreeing with you lol
I can never tell anymore with RUclips comments.
A minefield of hostility and judgement... home :3
I just wanted to say that I really appreciate what Enter Shikari do. The messages they want to deliver are important, the music original and their effort huge. Honestly, I'm not a huge fan of the music (I just take a listen here and then) but I don't understand how they aren't more popular. Especially their newer albums are so unique and energetic. They should be more popular with the international audience they have.
ENTER SHIKARI: Thank you to exist, i'm glad i can foreseen such a music phenomenon as you guys are. please never stop doing your art.
What a phenomenal song, their growth in skill and general development is great to see: this feels new and fresh, but I know it's ES and I love it
This is the most TTTS-esque thing they've put out in years. Very excited for the new album.
And than they released The Spark 😂😂😂
catchy as fuck, hard as fuck, smart as fuck, and an awesome video to match. ES always does it right
These lyrics are something else for Enter Shikari. Clearly an address on organized religion and how it often relates to a sacrifice of thought and will. In the end, if there is one, the probability of "it" caring who or what you believe would be slim to none, rather than the enjoyment you receive yourself in life, for better or worse. The travesty is that self determination and motivation is a weakening trait that is often stifled by the constructors and controllers of our world around us. Our reality may seem like an isolated boat on an endless sea, unable to escape. But tonight, on this small planet, Earth, we are going to rock civilization.
Stranded on a boat but Rou still has his earphones to listen to a bit of Enter Shikari.
looks like they bout to pick up the Enter Shikari sound they left at "Rat Race/Radiate"
goldwincs that was my favourite sound
yeah me too. still jamming those songs to this day.
Rat Race has to be one of their most underrated songs! Think it rips the shit out of radiate and paddington frisk!
Personally, gotta disagree. Rat Race was great, but I loved The Paddington Frisk.
That's only a good thing in my eyes.
This it lit!!!
Wasn't expecting to find you here
Whaaaat, it's really you
Please never stop playing music together! I love this, the old stuff, and even The Spark! Keep it up!

I'll be sure to dine here again
All in all, a splendid spread.
My compliments to the chef
I am very satisfied... with this comment thread
This band are so different I've literally never heard anything like this tbh
THIS IS THE VOICE OF GODS
ALREADY PAST 40 LISTENS. I NEED MORE.
The screaming at the beginning definitely has that Take To The Skies feel
Группа, у которой нет плохих песен. Все классные и отличаются своей оригинальностью по звучанию.лучшие
THE INTRO IS ABOSULTELY NUTS HOLYBALLZ
I swear ES just keeps on evolving easily one of the best bands ever!!! So stoked for more music you guys littearly NEVER disappoint!!
this is awesome, it sounds like it could be off 'The Zone'
So glad they brought the heavy metal screaming/vocals back!! I've noticed that seemed to be decreasing more and more with every album. Hoping for more of that on the next album as no one merges screaming vocals and catchy melodic hooks together like Enter Shikari!
Did you miss Myopia? That song's vocals where intense as fuck
+luigikiller1000 I agree with you plus the vocals to a price on your head and both appeals
The One True Colour?
Tad Springer loving the heavy screaming back in this but also give new band Nightlives song Tierra Muerta a listen for that melodic hook/Scream mix. Very good.!
+bluescareybear Good song! Thanks for the tip! I'll have to check out their other songs too.
Getting a system of down vibe from this with a shikari twist! Awesome!
The intro is like 100% Mastodon, and it is awesome
happiest most energetic band I've ever seen perform live. love them so much.
I'm so fucking happy.
ok as usual, the first time I listen to a shikari song I don't like it but going on I get addicted. now I don't really love this song but I hope to change my mind with time
mind changed :D
i love this band heavy. their so much better that way.
Enter Shikari is one of those few bands that always suprise me with how good their new content is; this song is great and the video is even better!
This is a hefty scoop of good ol' ES with some experienced polish. Damn guys, you nailed this one. Lyrics are spot on, too. Give us that political and social anger we all need to get inspired by, with a soundtrack to boil the blood!
omg i could listen to enter shakira all day they are my favourite rock screams
I wanna enter shakira lol, autocorrect or on purpose?
james irving now I'm imagining enter shikari with shakira on vocals hA
Do they have any albums the style of this song? I only looked around a bit but most songs i found aren't nearly this aggressive.
"sorry my hips don't lie" lmao
@@cruller1568 You might have found some stuff already, but Zzzonked, Destabilise and There's a Price on Your Head are good shouts
they write the most impactful songs, brilliant songwriters everything is a banger
Shikari is the voice of our generation.
If the boat is called Shikari, did they enter it?
Yay the SG is back!! Oh wait... its being used as a paddle.
The love I have for them is unreal! I have an enter shikari poster in my living room and i always look at it and say thank you for this amazing band❤️🙏✌️️
Enter Shikari is the epitome of "I might not like this the first or third listen, but eventually you will listen to this song on repeat"
We all know rolfy survives that. Ain't no guitar gonna carry you in water like a base drum will :D
This is the second song I have ever heard from this band. They're definitely versatile cause this sounds NOTHING like 'Live Outside'. I fuck with it though lol
torrent you should check out their other stuff. Every album has a different sound to it, they're a fucking amazing band.
will do g :)
torrent report back, Take To The Skies is my favorite album but also because of the nostalgia. Every album is my 2nd favorite favorite hahaha
3:00 I LOVE ENTER SHIKARI! I miss these dudes!
I'm so amazed, with each album and song they get so much better and better
Oh shit! This made my whole Monday!!
This video is better than Arguing With Thermometers :")
I'm not too sure ab out that. AWT has a lot of meaning. It reflects the state of the news nowadays. I'm not sure yet what exactly this video means though.
I feel like the fact that they are on a small boat, struggling for water and are singing about having the right documentation may be a link to the current refugee crisis, but i can't see a link with the actual song as of yet
I've been a huge Shikari fan since pre TTTS, went to see them live everytime they played in my country, but their mindsweep era shows were scripted, kinda repetative and predictable for me, something that differs from why I loved to go to see their shows in the first place. I still love them, better than I love any other band out there, but it seems to me that this has became more of a profession for them over the years, and inevitably lost some of the spark. This is absolutely okay, however despite of the lyrical content for the first time in my life I was bored by listening to shikari and watching their music video, and I am sad about this. AWT is the shit.
Rou said on facebook yesterday that the song is not about the crisis. he also said that the true meaning was in the verse of the song.
Yeah, I thought it was connected to the refugee crisis at first too, but reading the lyrics, it may be more about a direct confrontation with God, but idk
This song, along with this video, is another true inspiration.
Thank you.
Perfect, everything that I love in Enter Shikari, in sound
I feel like running a marathon now
ШЕДЕВР
0:28-0:58 100% Mastodon feeling, his voice, the guitars and even the drums
Dear Enter Shikari! If I could have a last wish before I die, I would like to hear you guys playing this right in front of me!
boiiiiiiiiiiiiiii
Sounds like Deftones's last album mixed with BMTH and old Shikari
DeadSephiroth1 except bmth are shite
Chris Hodsdon Maybe
I don't get why everyone is comparing them to Bmth I really don't see the similarity
Sounds like Enter Shikari
AlwinoFloyd No-no-no
These guys will be headlining reading and leeds fest in years to come, so good it's unreal!
THAT'S the Enter Shikari I know! awesome song, guys
I like how they have parts of underground genres like Beatdown in the beginning. Shame that you scrubs don't even understand how advanced this band is.
Am i wrong? Kids probably think "oh look a cool breakdown" when it actually even isn't one.
I'm perfectly fine with that.
This is more in line with what I would want a new album sound to be like. Mindsweep wasn't my cup of tea.
The Mindsweep is a masterpiece. Not a single song I'd want to skip on there.
@@alexthaxton3795 Good for you.
@@PhantomLAM it really is
@@alexthaxton3795*claps* Great to have different opinions isn't it? :)
if theres one reason to smile
is when you look up on youtube
you're fortunate enough
to see a new song
This video deserves tens of millions of views this song made me fall in love with this band
"Huh, why's Rory using his old guitar?"
...
"oh."
Can someone make a gif of the drummer at 0:35
makeagif.com/i/DCvct2 ;)
omg yes
How's this been out for 7 years I swear it came out last week, I fucking love singing this track.
Wow. I was more than skeptical but daaaamn. What an opening riff! Glad to hear the return of heaviness
Kind of sounds like a better version of ISMFOF haha
Johnny Franck Productions ismfof went experimental after using way to many drugs lol still love them though
I see land i dont see what their problem is 2:11
Hahaha, you ruined my perception of this video.
probably the time is wrong because i cant see any land at 2:11
to the right of them
i think thats white foam from the waves to be honest
that's just swell
They still got it. They bring it. Looking forward for festival time!
They need to play this live more often, it's a bangar
I'm nearly forty. my ears don't pick up all these lyrics that easily..
help!?
This is the voice of God
You’ve got it, you’ve got it
Stay in and lock your doors
[Verse]
I don’t care what you’ve achieved
There’s only one location if you don’t follow me
(You always get what you wanted)
You’re gonna burn in a blistering furnace
From now until forever, no matter how it ends
(You always get what you wanted)
[Chorus]
Halt, freeze
Who goes there
Do you have the right, do you have the right documentation
Stop, wait
This ain’t right
This is fraudulent, this is counterfeit
You are a hoodwinker, sir
[Bridge]
This is the voice of God
Shrink-wrapper of minds
Stay in, lock your doors
[Pre-Chorus]
Halt, freeze
Who goes there
Do you have the right, do you have the right documentation
[Chorus]
Halt, freeze
Who goes there
Do you have the right, do you have the right documentation
Stop, wait
This ain’t right
This is fraudulent, this is counterfeit
You are a hoodwinker, sir
I don’t care if you’re devout
To the three thousand
Other gods
(?)
Hostile to liberty
Burning books
It's mental captivity
This is a swindle for your soul (3×)
(You always get what you wanted)
For your soul
This is a swindle for your soul (3×)
(You always get what you wanted)
For your soul
[Chorus]
Halt, freeze
Who goes there
Do you have the right, do you have the right documentation
Stop, wait
This ain’t right
This is fraudulent, this is counterfeit
You are a hoodwinker, sir
[Outro]
You are a hoodwinker, sir
What do you take me for, a fool?
Cheeky fucker
(From genius.com)
Tony McMullen Vanilly77 you are welcome! :)
Huschibaba cheers mate, I've been singing some of the right words for almost 2 weeks now though. someone else posted them.
but, thanks again!!
The sound is Bring me the Horizon on steroids,it has that anthem vibe but its very raw, love it
Bmth on steroids? like the first 3 albums are?
Tsh couldn't help but make this comment considering the sweet irony of it all
Shikari was first
How dare you compare them to that pop trash of a band.
im talking about before they went mainstream pop,im talking about drawing similarities between albums like Sempiternal, which was a masterpiece, its so quick to start an argument with someone on youtube jeez
I wouldn't call That's the Spirit mainstream pop, even though it has some pop elements. :3
Shikari can do no wrong, love this!
I cried everytime. Couldn't stop watching this since yesterday. 86 times played, 100 to go. lol
I think we all picked up on the obvious reference to refugees here right?
Yes, but saying that you are the first comment mentioning it.
therefore I commented actually, kinda hoped it was just my device not showing all comments
That's what I thought too but in an interview Rou said the song was about not believing in deities. Maybe it's somehow both?
could be, many of the lyrics get me at refugee like asking to show the right documentation
Yeah, it gave me a refugee commentary vibe, but the song starting off with "I am the voice of God" sets the tone for religion/deities as the core subject. Though, when I heard the "right documentation" lyric, I felt it was about an egotistical elite in a position of power trying not to let anyone in their coutry. But hell, Rou knows more about the song he wrote, so I'll just take his words lol
no electronic breakdown? what is this?
ngl this has a fucking awesome breakdown
Indeed. I can see this being a banger live
Can confirm, was in the first crowd to hear this live at a secret gig in camden.
holy shit that went down.
:)
A better song then they've made in years. Real instruments.
GOOSEBUMPS EVEN ON MY EYELASHES
They took a step into the past which was a great idea ... truly proud of these guys
Russia tattoo on the leg at the beginning?
And richard parker? where is richard parker?? :V
Se lo comieron.
very pleasantly surprised by this one boys, gave off a common dreadsy vibe which is a wonderful thing in my books. plus the song is about an issue rather close to my heart as of late. fantastic lads, all in all a splendid spread.
Love it!! Listening to this at 4 AM.
заебись
While BMTH churns out some mediocre pop rock, Shikari kicks it with an awesome beatdown in its song.
amen to that
Oh my! Random new Enter Shikari video! woop woop
Scratchcard gloryyyyyyyyyyyyyy
This is what happens when you open the floodgates...
I see what you did there
3:10 did they mean to leave the plane in the shot?
Its the drum and symbol
Robert Dennis oh holy crap it is
^^ *cymbal
I doubt there was a plane involved in this shoot.
if planes begin to look like that god help us all
Talk about rocking the boat
preeeeetty good, the boys did it again!
