What about the death of a henchman, redshirt, etc.? These characters are designed to die in the story, but the reaction of the main characters (or the absence of a proper reaction) tells me somtheing about them. It may be something the author hadn't in mind though.

You can understand what death means in film only if u watch “IKiru” of Kurosawa.
