These boys will not forget the wonderful memories of growing up so free and their ability to explore the natural world. The best childhood ever!!! I grew up in the southern part of Jamaica when I was a child, those were some of the best memories of my life. Freedom to play hard and explore nature to its fullest. When they get older they may move to the big city to study, only the Most Hight knows, but they will cherish these memories.

Had to lol when I watched the part about the plumber. Had the same happen to me in jamaica. The plumber overcharged, brought 2 of his friends- ( " assistants") for a 20 minute job. Dealt with it, taking cultural factors into account, but sat them down and let them know I was not stupid and I was in on their game. Would never use them again. Happy to say I did find a good plumber in the end.

I feel you mate I got trucks working for me and I thought hmm the fuel is going way to quick so worked out the exact kilometers per litre and realised 2 trucks were robbing about £30 of fuel each.
So silly it's a big contract with several months work like you say they only think of their stomach today a fella even come drunk the other day!

Trying to shame them doesn't work. Trying to find a honest tradesman is rare in any part of the world, especially now in Africa with a lot of economic hardship. To them you are as rich as Bill Gates so they should try and get as much out of you as you are willing to give (which basically the principles of capitalism and commerce anyway). They dont care if you don't use them again , they would rather take the immediate"windfall'" of money. That is how it is in my part of West Africa at least. 😊

In life to get good things you have to work and suffer if it was easy everyone would do it.
A pig that is in a pen become a little docile it doesn't have to look for food it's just there getting fed or then you have a wild boar it's a harder life hunting in the forest its a little ferile but it has its freedoms.

I know how the business goes and I fully accept your own can chop your money small small, but just they way you went about it and perhaps you should have spoken to him calmly off camera. Remember, it’s not what you say it’s how you say it. Just thought you could’ve have delivered the message to them a bit better. And next time get lots of quotes and be happy with it before you let anyone touch your work.
