Man... The trail conditions in this video look way better than they are right now. I just checked our the course, except culvert which the builders are working on, and grizzly has some pretty gnarly ruts! The rock garden on Eastside looked more rutted and bony, even Rocky seems like the right line is deeper and looks risky. I'm nervous about racing it for the first time this year!
Thanks! Always try and capture as much of the racing scene as I can while I’m out there & not only focus on my race runs. The people always make the races much more fun 🤗
Can't wait and hopefully you can convince them to attend Dirt Daze next year! You may not remember but I spoke to you early in the Rocky Mountain demo . It'd be sweet to try a Norco. 🤙🏾
Not super goofy at all.. it is a great fun bike that’s mostly quiet 🤐 I’ve liked it for an all rounder, just not as much for my racing as it’s just a bit less travel at 140-150 then I’ll need for bigger enduro races like Northstar Tahoe & China Peak which are very gnarly courses for a bike with this amount of travel ☝🏼
This race was harder this year then last year I’d say.. it’s not the one that gets my blood boiling 🥵 like say China Peak or Northstar… but it’s getting more blown out and difficult to ride at Mach speed or race pace! Always fun as it’s the closest race to my home town being just about 2 hours away. Definitely demands the riders full attention when trying to go fast
Unfortunately you heard that right… sold my Megatower a few months back & was hoping to be on another Megatower but plans didn’t line up & I had to buy a bike as quick as I could. Thankful to Shaun from N1bikes for sending me a bike when I was in need asap before the first race of the season started at the Georgtown enduro. This was my second race on the Rocky Mountain Instinct (140-150mm travel bike) & only my 12th or 13th ride on the bike at all.. definitely finding it’s limits much faster then I had hoped, if I had more time I’d probably end up setting this bike up with a coil rear shock and a 38mm diameter longer travel fork. The instinct and the altitude share the exact same frame so it could easily be built up to be a more proper and bury enduro bike with 160-170mm travel. Since I’m now a Norco employee I’ll be looking to get on one of their bikes very soon! Stay tuned for what’s to come ☝🏼😎
@@bike_somm yea I went from air to coil and never looked back, best upgrade I ever made. Well sucks you got rid of the mega hope you are able to get another later down the line. But best of luck to you at Narco hope you able to get a discount and pick up a bike. I guess that’s one the bad part of leaving on the south east no bike manufacturers on this side of the Pond🤷🏼♂️
@@priceandbar10 In All honesty I didn’t plan on getting rid of the Mega for a Rocky.. lol Santa Cruz just couldn’t release their new mega soon enough for me to get one before my racing season.. supply issues and timing just isn’t very predictable after this global pandemic.. so rather then waiting week after week for a bike that may or may not come, I pulled the trigger on the Rocky. I could update and upgrade it into the altitude.. but then I recently got a new job with Norco. So rather then paying a bunch more money trying to change this current bike into the Enduro bike I’d like it to be, I’ll just get on a Norco I like soon 👍🏼 I’ve tried the Sight & Range recently and really like those bikes geometry and feel better anyhow so I’m stoked at the end of the day it’s still a great learning process. Lesson learned.. don’t sell your favorite bike for another unless it’s a sure thing you’ll like the new bike and can actually get a hold of one should they be available 😎

Thanks for the comment! Yea definitely a good place to learn to ride fast and chunky terrain here and there
Outstanding!
Thanks, tho I didn’t place as well as I’d have liked it was Great race✨🏁🚴🏼♂️
good luck, hope you win
That apex at 16:00 was 😏👌😏😅
I heard that you can get an extra boost of speed by yelling “weeeeeeeeee” on the jumps and “waahooooo” on the switchbacks.
Hahah that’s a great point! Waahoooo all day long then!! ✌🏼
saw my friends. Lol. Nice video’

04:44 That guy almost fell off the cliff lol, nice save🤙
Hahah yea he was coming in HOT!!! He also won so I was stoked for him he was able to get by without me holding him up at all 😝
Kinda bummed to hear that about the RM Instinct but wondering what's next? Norco Sight, Shore or Range 🤔
Norco is legit and their geometry is super dialed! Stoked to be getting on their bikes soon 😎 Will update when I’ve got some news

I know it sounds goofy but that bike has “the sound” of a well damped bike working well. What don’t you like about it?

I've heard this race is really demanding compared to other Enduro's in Cali. Bike Somm, do you agree!

Did I hear that right, did you sell/trade your mega? Please say it ant so? 😢

@@bike_somm why did you get rid of the mega? just wanted to mix it up?
