- Welcome to the Decibel Geek Podcast Vinnie Vincent Special Part 4. In this special video of the archive episode #62 of the Decibel Geek Podcast, hosts AAron and Chris explore ever deeper into the mystery of the former KISS guitarist with not one but, two interviews with special guests who worked with the mysterious artist.
First up is Hirsh Gardner. Hirsh is a Drummer and Engineer/Producer who worked closely with Vinnie from his pre-KISS days to his time with the Vinnie Vincent Invasion. The former drummer for the band, New England recalls his memories of working and recording with Vinnie in a band that was going to be known as "Warrior" until Vinnie abruptly ended the recording sessions by becoming the guitarist for KISS. The legalites of Vinnie's actions that followed well into his "Invasion" days are a fascinating behind the scenes look into the ongoing mystery.
Special guest, Tom Silver picks it up from there. Working for Chrysalis Records, Tom dealt with the Vinnie Vincent Invasion and eventually with Mark Slaughter and Dana Strum in forming the band "Slaughter" after tensions with the members of the Invasion and Vinnie grew to a fever pitch.

Vinnie's voice is so wonderful.. I think I sort of had a "falling in love" moment when I first heard his demos with his vocals. He is SO incredible and SO talented and I wish we had heard more of him singing!
Based upon this interview, you can see the turning point right there .Vinnie should have been the front person for Warrior. Had he done so, he probably would have wound up a happier person even if he didn't hit "the big time".
Vinnie for president!
Love, love, love your podcast dudes! The way you incorporate photos while the podcast goes along is cool! You need more views & subscribers....I'll do my best to spread the word! Rock On!

thanks for all the Vinnie podcasts, great shows!
That picture at around 27:15 is one of most frightening things I've ever seen.
LOL!
once seen.....
Yes. I go back to that image...when I'm feeling low. I'll think to myself, "Well, at least you've never looked like that." And it makes me feel a lot better.
Thou Shalt Not :)
Vinnie Vincent is simply AMAZING!, All systems go is a MASTERPIECE!.
Quite excited what will be put up on the 25th of March...
+hennck Stay Tuned...
I was at show where Vinnie's equipment was repossessed it was Alice Cooper tour and it was Worcester Massachusetts, they only played 3 songs, I was really pissed I traveled from Connecticut just to see Vinnie, I was told Alice Cooper's band lent them the equipment to play that night.
+Debbie Reilly Thanks for the firsthand info \m/
Hey Deb I was at that show Mark came and said they where going let them play I was disappointed with there song choice tho 😂
good show...only error I heard...is Yngwie was in Alcatrazz before Vai...so Hirsh got his timeline wrong just a bit...but hey its 35 years ago....cheers!! keep up the great shows.
Sorry but nothing was great about Slaughter .......Vin should have stuck w/ New England [- John Fannon] After KISS ....he would still be huge today!
Does anyone have a nice thing to say about this freak...
I don't have any personal problems with Mark Slaughter, probably a great guy, but holy hell, I absolutely can't stand his voice. I can only ever listen to the first VVI album.
What was that opening song?
Wake Me Up by Eclipse
no it isn't.... right band, wrong song.
Bleed And Scream by Eclipse.

Tom Silver must have repeated the same two things at least four times.
Vinnie's the man!
Not only is he not the man, he's barely A man.
he perpetually struggled with being broke. $550 per week while with Kiss while a wife with twins
Yes, but it's almost 40 years ago.
Good money back then
It was the equivalent of $1700 a week now so over $7000 a month so not exactly poor pay.
