I do like how the backgrounds evolve throughout the sequels too.
S1: Rainbow
S2: Beach
S3: Forest
S4: Sunset
S5: Cityscape
S6: Living Room
S7: Snow
S8: Space
Now I wonder what S9's background gonna be.

I never realized until semi-recently that the backgrounds are actually blurred images and not just gradients! It's a nice little touch.
Looks like cherry blossoms for S9. Very pretty.
