Akidemics, i dont know hip hop inti mitaley the way you do but a couple years back i was making a living as an Uber driver. I was listening to 92.3 radio station here in California. I remember at that time they were giving tge big push to J.Cole. They were saying stuff like he represents the best of us, he is an intelectual & very thoughtful & he is hip hop. I remember hearing J.Cole saying basically at that time he had fulfilled his contract, he put in all the work & the people who backed him got the best of him. He gave everything he had to fulfill & live up to the contract he admits he signed & took full responsability for. He at that time from what i remember was embarking on a new fronteir, a new begining, breaking new ground as his iwn man. He was now at a time & place to build his empire for homself & his famiky with his art & love of hio hop. Ive been hearing recently since this latest stuff has jumped off that people are now trying to basically pass or ignore J.Cole saying basically "he dont move the needle". I think he thought about getting into tge mix of this little dust up but then decided to pull back, or at least thats my perception. Is he going to make a move & try to land a knock out blow, im not even sure on who or what for. Could it be he decided its not in his long term vision to get caught up in this, will the streets let him pkay it this way, will the industry let him move this way, i think he is more independent know & doesnt have to succumb yo the pressure of his entorauge or hanger ons & can make his own decisions from what i remember him saying. I dont know, i moved out here to california about 7 years ago, beforr that i never heard of Kendrick or J.Cole or the migo's for that matter.
