A question here. What about the Amazon ones ? Amazon has some AirPods max ones for 479 dollars and I’m planning on buying them but how do I know they aren’t counterfeit ?
So the AirPods Max actually do not have a wired mode though you can use them while charging. And yes if you use them while charging the microphone works, but when they are dead they do not work because they have no wired mode.

He just has bad reps I've seen fake ones that actually look and preform like originals so be careful because there are really high quality hard to tell fakes

How about just touching the ear cups. Aluminum has a cold touch to them. The plastic doesn't have that same effect.

You can't 'turn off' AirPods Max though, twisting the ear-cups doesn't turn them off, they simply can't be turned off.
Though that’s true, once placed in the case they enter an ultra power saving mode.
