I have to say, I LOVE your fast-forward video! Busy soapers like me can see the technique and get to soaping without a lot of chatter about stuff we already know! *subscribe*
Hi Kenna, I just saw your video! a lovely soap you are showing! This technique is great, I have been using it for a long while.. in the germanspeaking soaping community, it must have been "in the air" , that Idea to let the batter slide down some sort of devider for nice stripes in the middle of the soap, so many possible variation, so much fun! thank you for putting my "soapers name" under your video but it willl never be sure who came up first with it, I guess have a nice day! dandelion
OMG just found you. Love the short tutorial jut to review pouring techniques. I need a whole bunch of these for keeping all the pours strait in my head. New at this and it takes so long to get one pour right and I just want to try all of them.
Oh nice I see your using Vinvelas Dandelion teqnique , that lady is amazing , so nice of her to give a tutorial on it , I made one too but not as good as yours x Mariella x
Hi Mariella! I keep hearing this (hence why I added the "Dandelion" part of the title!) and I have no clue who Vinvelas is! Do you have a link? I've been doing variations of my Tiger Stripe using dividers and other change ups for over a year now and didn't realize it had become someone's "thing" and would love to see it! :) Just goes to show how there is never anything new in soapmaking! Thanks for watching!
Mary, as I commented above, I added the name of what she calls this technique to the video after another soaper pointed out that we are using the same technique for the same design under a different name. The point of my videos is to share and teach, and reach the widest possible of audience looking for that help. It was added with respect to Vinvela.
Kenna, you make this look too easy! I for one, know better...it's not easy. Truly appreciate your videos and tutorials. Which subscription do you recommend for a true newbie who wants as much knowledge as possible. That 30 minute Skype session would be amazing. I'm struggling big time, and no classes around. Thanks for sharing so much. You're amazing!
It's funny how that works, huh? I started messing with overlapping lines of soap last year, trying to find a way to mimic the faux funnel swirl. It grew by using dividers, both horizontally like this & vertically to isolate the stripes. :) Did I get your name of the technique right? Like all soap design techniques, they always seem to come and go under different names. Like the spoon swirl/impressionist swirl! :) Now that I finally know who you are, I can check out your work!!
