Jason Gipson : Yes, to ease construction and retain the well tube in the carb body Jason. It allows identifcation by stamping and external profiles. David Vizard has to teach service technicians to suck eggs. For non IR/ITB Holley 2 or 4bbl or dual quadss, well tube drilling or blanking off will trim air fuel ratios strategically at pioint thru the rev range to create an EFi style flat fuel curve.
