I'm from Latvia, and we share a lot of stuff like this. and from what i've seen in this video, that stuff is really nice. and the thing about calories is really true. i gets cold here too, and we also get hungry really fast, so we eat a lot. not sure about drinks, but vodka is really nice too, but with those foods.
i'd suggest that you make them Rosol, or the meat/sausage salad. it's really nice, but mostly made for some big dates

I have so much fun watching this as a Georgian 🇬🇪 because I know russian, most of the foods are not even russian. They're like Soviet Union foods. Most of the foods are in many other countries that were in the Union and it's just so funny. There is also a soup kon missed out on. It's called "mawvnis supi" in Georgian and idk how it is in russian but basically it's a soup mostly from sour cream
I know that some of the food are russian originated, like plemni,salad and caviar and there are much more but borscht and the soup you've named aren't.
