The history of Cannery Row is really interesting.
It's always fun playing tourist in your own town but really fun when you learn something new about it!
Two interesting tidbits about the Cannery Row sculpture. First, the models were friends of the sculptor, Steven Whyte. Second, the plaque on the sculpture is actually a door that leads inside.

The aquarium isn’t cheap, but if you are local enough to take advantage of the membership, it’s a bargain! The hardest part is being inside when you know how beautiful it is outside!
We were members for several years. Unfortunately the rates raised WAY over what we can comfortably pay. Still, being a local means at least one free admission per year!

The hot chocolate is the very best I have ever drank. If you get there do not miss it. I live in Salinas just a few miles away and the area is so beautiful.
