Hi Tugs Rugs, I'm currently working on my own rug making projects and I noticed that you're using a backing fabric that looks exceptionally durable and aesthetically pleasing. I'm very interested in learning more about it, such as the name, description, and where I can find it. Currently the backing fabric I purchased is a type of woven fabric which frays when cut, which obviously is not the quality I am after.
Great rug! Whenever I tuft my lines too close to one another the actual carpet side has the colors mixed in. How do you avoid that from happening? The only thing I found that works is to leave a space between two colors. Also, did you mean to glue the non-slip side to the rug? Or is that a preference you have to use the smooth side?
@TugRugs are you no longer using burlap for your rugs? It’s been a long time since I’ve tapped in? What are you using now and do you now recommend that over Burlap?
Loved your video. I am in the process of learning about tufting….. The grey material that you used underneath your mat has little flowers and some rubber dots. Does it go on the inside? I thought it would go on the outside so the mat don’t slip.
You can use either side. Non slip side with the dots for tile or wooden floors and felt side for carpet flooring. I like the felt side for some reason. I may order a roll of felt for somewhere so I won’t waste this backing
The tool you talked about is I believe called a ruggler made by a company in Switzerland, but you can make one using a fork and bending the prongs.. 😊
Good to know. Thanks
Thanks for the info on shipping. I never even thought of this step. Keep up the good work.

Yes leave a lil space in between colors to prevent that problem. As far as the backing go I wanted the smooth side instead of nonslip

I’ve been using primary cloth lately because I’ve been teaching more in person classes

I have some questions I just did my first rug need help with pricing and stuff
Hit me up on instagram tugs_rugs
The material you used at the back. You glued it the other way round. This structure should be on the outside, it is a non-slip material 😅
I wanted the felt side for this rug because it wasn’t going on a tile or wood floor to slide
who am I? Brain or heart
