We don't see the manifestations of many Zanpakutō very often except outside one filler arc with the exception of Zangetsu. Otherwise it's rare in canon material to see the spirits.

I love that Renji knew his Captain well enough that he could predict Byakuya's attempt to use Senka again like he did against Ichigo. Reminder of what it does:
Senka (閃花, Flash Blossom) is a highly advanced Hohō technique. Moving behind the opponent, the practitioner attacks and seals their Saketsu (鎖結, Chain Binding) and Hakusui (魄睡, Soul Sleep) in two rapid attacks. A victim may not be able to tell whether they were attacked from the front or the back because of the technique's speed, and even an outside observer may find it impossible to tell what the movements are.

Hihiō Zabimaru (狒々王蛇尾丸, Baboon King Snake Tail; Viz "Baboon King")
Personal Note: I hate this Bankai so much. It's so unwieldy even by Bankai standards of excess even if Zanpakuto are weightless to their master. It's the ultimate example of why a Shinigami should spend 10 years mastering their bankai before using it. Renji is obviously like many fans and mistaking the 10 years as being a requirement for learning rather than the requirement for mastery.

Hadō #33. Sōkatsui (蒼火墜, Blue Fire, Crash Down; Viz "Pale Fire Crash"): Blue flames discharge from the palm. The practitioner aims the palm of their hand at their target and generates a torrent of blue energy before firing it at their target. The energy moves like a direct blast or a large wave of energy, dependant on the amount of power which is placed into it. Depending on the user's proficiency with the technique, it can damage an opponent's Bankai. Kuchiki Clan members are well versed in this Hadō.

Bakudō #61. Rikujōkōrō (六杖光牢, Six Rods Prison of Light; Viz "Six-Rod Light Restraint"): Pointing their index finger at the target, the practitioner generates a spark of yellow energy, which summons six thin, wide beams of light that slam into a target's midsection and hold them in place. The target is unable to move any part of their body, including the parts which were not struck by the beams. This technique can also be used after using Bakudō #4. Hainawa because the six beams of light form from the light already created by Hainawa.

Renji's Bankai is a crutch for him. He was so focused on using it to beat Byakuya that he ignored that Byakuya is a captain for more than just his Bankai. Bankai is a requirement for captaincy (unless you're Zaraki) but it's not the only requirement. Byakuya is one of the best Kido Masters in the series and I do mean master and not expert. I like Renji but god did he deserve to lose this fight.

Mayuri's Bankai: Konjiki Ashisogi Jizō (金色疋殺地蔵, Golden Leg-Cutting Jizō; Viz "Divine Leg-Cutting Jizō")
The crazy thing is that Byakuya throwing his scarf onto Renji was a massive sign of respect, that scarf is worth the value of ten mansions and I believe it's something that gets passed down to the head of the Kuchiki family, so to drop it on Renji like he did was him showing respect.

-While Renji still bleeds a copious amount after being attacked with Senbonzakura Kageyoshi, the shot of blood spurting into the air is zoomed-out and grayscaled, and there is far less blood on the ground when Byakuya approaches Renji, who does not have as much blood spattered on his body.
-Byakuya does not pull out one of the swords pinning down Renji's arm, drawing blood in the process, but instead pulls out one of the swords embedded in the ground around Renji.
-Multiple shots of the blood drawn by Renji's final attack are omitted, and the remaining scenes are grayscaled.
-Renji is not shown bleeding further from his back and ankle after his final attack against Byakuya, and he does not leave a trail of blood in midair when he collapses.
-Byakuya does not receive a superficial wound from Renji's final blow that bloodies his scarf.
-After Byakuya throws it onto Renji, his scarf does not become permeated with blood from the wounds on Renji's back.

Important Changes:
-In the manga, Renji prevents Byakuya from releasing his Shikai by wrapping Zabimaru around the blade, in line with how Yoruichi Shihōin had prevented its release earlier by binding the blade with fabric, and Byakuya manages to say his Zanpakutō's name before; here, Renji simply slams the end of Zabimaru into the blade of Byakuya's Zanpakutō before he completes its release and this prevent the release, with Byakuya not saying Senbonzakura.
-In the manga, the separated pieces of Hihiō Zabimaru are visible after crashing into the bridge prior to reassembling, and Byakuya is alerted when they begin to move; here, they are obscured by a cloud of dust, and Byakuya is not alerted until they fly out of the cloud.
-In the manga, when pinning down Renji, Byakuya generates thirteen swords, one of which pierces his hand and another his wrist; here, the amount of swords produced by Byakuya varies between shots, and one of the swords pinning down Renji's arm is piercing it near the elbow on his forearm rather than at his wrist.
-In the manga, after leveling one of the swords at Renji, Byakuya has it and the other swords not pinning down Renji dissipate into blade petals, then reform as swords pointing at Renji around his own body; here, Byakuya keeps them all intact - consequently, when Renji gets up for one last attack, he shatters all the swords around him rather than just the one embedded in his hand.
-In the manga, after Renji's final attack against Byakuya fails, his broken Zanpakutō cracks at the point of contact with Byakuya and leaves behind a small shard of blade when it shatters; here, the remainder of the blade cracks in multiple places after initially remaining undamaged and shatters completely, leaving only the guard and handle.

Trivia: In prior episodes, exposure to intense Reiatsu caused sweat to move up the faces of affected individuals; here, Renji's sweat falls downward when he is confronted by Byakuya, in line with the depiction in the manga.

i know this is late but i love watching new reactors to my favorite anime, and it never gets old watching renji always getting his cheeks clapped by byakuya.
I love this episode, i consider this fight one of the Best in BLEACH.
Byakuya's fight style is so great.
Is that guy he jumped over the same dude he protects in the current arc in the beginning? Gonna have to re watch that episode like a call back
That guy Renji jumped over was Rikichi Yuki, who joined squad 6 because he looked up to Renji.
He's also the brother of Ryunosuke, aka the cowardly soul reaper from episode one of the TYBW

The tonal syllable is the first "Bya"
The "ku" part is the is almost "kh" the "U" isn't pronounced that strongly... It's almost inaudible.
Bya(Open A, weak Y)-Ku (the kh sound) Ya (like in "Ya know?")
