a few crazy synergies I found: 1:dormant crystal with an acid trail. (rather deadly, but great for clearing any ground, and possibly kill enemies under it). 2: chaining several luminous drill with timer, certain formation spells, and basically any missile type spell can make a wand that shoots around corners. (modify slightly by using digging bolts and an electricity arc to make a taser) this can be amazing if you get a good enough wand and make something that can encompass the Noita in a protective wall of death. 3: damage field and homing on anything like mist, or summon spells. (flies work great for this) 4:a simple classic: freeze field combined with a tentacle. (I like to use a long distance, freeze field, tentacle timer, tentacle.) to end up with a extremely fast firing spell, due to how the 2 interact)
And (random) 'Steve' (aka Cap'n Calcium, the Holy-Mountain-guardin' skeletal guardian) is 'Stevari,' Finnish for 'bouncer' or guard. If you play this game long enough, you'll be able to speak like a Finn if the topic of beasties and monsters comes up %-)
Shuffle wands can still be useful because of how they work with modifiers. When it hits a modifier it will apply it, then continue to the slots on the right until it hits a spell where it will fire that spell with all of the modifiers it applied. So if you order your modifiers from weakest to strongest followed by a single spell you can severely decrease the randomness of the wands.
this is a really well made entry-level guide! It explains everything about all the different wand stats, while not going into too much detail about every single spell and how it can combo with others and becoming a confusing mess for newer players. Great work!

I personally have never seen a game with this much conscious detail put into it, and it is clear the devs put lots of love into it. it's an even better video if it has meme editing but not shitty. like Albino, but yea i like this video, i'm having a hard time outsmarting the game and getting past hissi base and this is super helpful
A fun little trick you can use for some serious excavation. There are trap chambers that activate when you grab a wand from the center plinth, usually starting a fire, summoning a giant acid cloud, or electrifying water. If you supply an electric charge to the trap box generator thing you can reactivate it again. If you find an acid trap and you have a wand with electrifying field, you can continuously activate the acid trap box and release insane amounts of acid. It can even go through the holy mountain brickwork once you "discover" it in your run but the level barrier is immune to damage until you get that "discovered" text prompt.
Or just the Pingpong Path spell modifier. I honestly don't like the perks that can be duplicated by just using a spell modifier, because you don't ALWAYS want that effect to be on.
3 chainsaws on a wand that had 'allways cast: gigantic magical projectile' The rapid fire devastation was glorious. And I never had to levitate anymore because I could fly endless with the recoil.
this is a simple spell, but quite an unbreakable one. same with pretty much anything trigger into chainsaw/barrier(especially with piercing). piercing takes every trigger spell and overloads it. also freeze+melee = instant kill. it's not a damage increase, it's straight-up death. can be triggered with a freeze charge on a tentacle due to how tentacles deal damage.
Bounce+2Accelerating Shot+Heavy Shot+Any homing or rotate toward +A few Multicast+5 or more Bouncing Burst and you have what I would like to call death in every possible direction
Thanks for this video, you changed my perception of the game from being way too complicated and not worth my time to being a game I want to pick up and try out myself. Keep up the good work!
Yeah, I won a run yesterday with heavy shot + reduced spread + faster projectiles + triple shot (and a bunch of other stuff like chainsaws and mana to make it really fast and sustainable). It was completely nuts. Like a sniper rifle that could one-shot anything.
Bolt with trigger -> Personal fireball launcher -> Circle of displacement. At least I think that's how it went. Teleports pesky enemies away *and* makes them lob fireballs in every direction wherever they end up, hopefully wreaking havoc on other enemies wherever they end up. Just try not to accidentally stumble into one of the fields of displacement yourself.
Some nice combos and tricks: Combo 1: Homing + rock (with some way to not run out of rocks - unlimited spells, greek letter spells, carefully carrying your 3 rocks around with telekinetic kick) is very lethal against almost all enemies, and gets you double gold from trick kills (so it works with the trick greed and trick blood money perks too, for even more money or health.) Combo 2: Homing + damage (damage up, damage field, heavy shot, linear path... any damage increase or damage source) + mist (slime is the simplest, toxic if you're not afraid of the damage or can avoid it, spirits if you're ok with being drunk and flammable, blood if you can get around the limited casts.) The mist has a very long duration and doesn't disappear on enemy collision, so with homing it will stick to enemies for a long time. Add on any damage and it gets incredibly lethal, incredibly fast, since it applies that damage every time it hits the enemy - every single frame. *any spell with homing, piercing, and damage should do the same thing, but piercing has -16 damage _and_ self damage, and most spells have a shorter lifespan than mists, so mist is usually best outside of some real janky builds. Miscellaneous tricks: - The spell Chainsaw always sets the cast delay of its cast (it and anything else multicast before it/to its left) to 0 - no cast delay at all, but spells cast after it in that block (to its right) can add or remove cast delay normally. - Spells inside triggers don't apply cast delay modifiers (even if there's only modifiers and no projectiles, they still technically cast, just on nothing.) Great for using add mana without the cast delay or using heavy spread to reduce the recharge of the whole wand. - Spell wrapping happens whenever you reach the end of a wand and still have casts left - either through multicast or a modifier with no spell to apply to, it'll go back to the first spell in the wand, as long as that spell isn't part of the same cast. - Always cast spells on wands apply their cast delay and recharge delay modifiers, but not their mana costs (except for add mana's negative mana cost,) and they always have unlimited casts. Any always cast that would normally be limited is worth paying attention to - _especially_ the ones that don't work with unlimited spells (Black Hole, Healing Bolt, Circle of Vigor, Mana to Power, Matter Eater, Touch of Gold, and Summon Taikasauva are the big ones.)
I did that with throw thunder with the shot gun. I think I was those spells. All I know what that the area was engulfed in lighting. Before I knew it there was a lake of slime and blood. Destroying the mofos in the unground vault.
I'm a big fan of Noita, and I liked your video! My favorite synergy was the rain cloud with electricity, I haven't done anything like that before. Tip: Saline spray, works wonders on a stuffy nose.

That just might instantly kill you lol One time I got glass canon off a gamble and I threw down a bomb later in the ice level; I had a really op thunder and chain zap wand and the run was going pretty good despite the low health. But I didn’t even consider that bombs might be buffed too. Standing a safe distance away for a normal blast, I got absolutely annihilated and the pieces of my body flew halfway across the map
Well i only got an insane wand now at like 30 hours in i think, it basically destroyed everything shooting fireballs of death and bouncing around lightspeed and you can hear the distant explosions after you shoot. Just gotta hope it doesnt come back to you.
Yeah, I use most shuffle wands for rapid firing projectiles, and the no shuffle ones for insane bursts of damage. My most insane combo so far was getting one that always casted bloodlust, and had no shuffle. I found it super early in the game (in the fungal caverns) and was able to make it rapid fire spark bolts, with reduce recharge time, luminous drill and double spell using up all 4 of its slots. I think I was using that same wand the whole time til I died in the vault. :v
I just had a Wand with triple scatter, mana reduce and recharge reduce. Together with the lightning stone, i had a cone of deathrays exceeding way beyond 999 dps on the Statue on shop
I don't get the Fireball + Field of Electricity + Rain Cloud combo, youll never be able to get that gold if you are not sporting electric immunity. Or is it just for the fun of it? Because i think it is a neat combo!
As long as you have a ranged way to dig then you can drain the water away and get it, dangerous combo without immunity but good for the extra trick gold and it can kill lots of stuff easily. If you don't get immunity by the time you get to metal floors throw that wand away xD
Oh boy do i got a wand for you, i got lightning bolt whit the bouncing spells and a always cast two sided fireball launcher, may I say. RUN FOR YOUR LIFE ITS TOO DANGEROUS.

It's hard and a good run is very dependent on the RNG of the wands and spells your seed gives you. Finding an ideal combination of spell synergies with the right want to equip it is rare, but when it happens, your run is magical. I suggest a bit of minor cheating. Get a game editor that allows you to view and enter a specific seed number. That way if you get that rare RNG with a good early wand or spell set, you can repeat it a few times. Without that ability to save/enter a seed, far too many runs are very bland and disappointing as you struggle to find any enjoyable combination of spells.
you would find better consistency if you try to work out how to utilise all of the spells/perks and leave your comfort zone, much like with deck building in slay the spire.
