    Where I started climbing and where I still go, at least once a month. Absolutely a beginners dream, the awe inspiring scale of the place with no shortage of 5 - 6b walls

    that place looks nuts! though i feel my belayer might struggle to hear me insecurely screaming TAKE near the top of the 30m wall

    This place is amazing. Edinburgh is really blessed with 5 indoor climbing gyms. Eden Rock is a massive indoor bouldering gym just outside the city but there is also my locals Alien Rock and Alien Bloc which are in the city and smaller but equally as fun!

    Ahh so awesome to see my local wall being featured! Ratho is amazing and the leading ranges from amazing to brutal! The comp wall really is the pumpiest thing around!

    What is the ceiling made of? If there is one

    • @mmartin232
      @mmartin232 5 лет назад +2

      its a diffuse Plexiglas. lets loads of light in, but nothing thatll blind you

    • @jerrydonnan8665
      @jerrydonnan8665 5 лет назад +1

      Its 6000 sq m of tesioned fabric membrane - like the sail on a racing yacht- but extra strong. It is tensioned over a steel frame. Sometimes drips a wee bit in the winter. Plenty of light- 40% translucency. drums a bit when there's heavy rain, but that just makes you happier to be under cover.

    • @RoryM07
      @RoryM07 5 лет назад

      Whatever it's made of I'll tell you one thing, it's bloody cold in the winter in there!!
