    A good idea before putting silicon in it is to rough up the paint around the hole and the plastic it helps the Silicon have something to buy into just a little helping advice 😊

    That's a nerve racking job! I've done a few obs fords! It helps to have a parts truck to measure off.Real trucks have cab lights!

    I would have grabbed some self tapping screws. It would have saved you and me both a lot of time. It is possible to get the headliner out of the truck without remoing the seats, I have done it numerous times, it just takes a little finagling. Other than that, thanks for the video.

      Usually self tapper screws the tip of it is bigger than the screw and there are easier to strip out I had some didn't want to risk It because there's was stainless steel

    Sorry to ask but have you had any issues with them so far? Also is it worth doing to a truck? I would like to hear your opinion before I buy some for my 2008 6.4, thanks.

      Yes sir .the way I did it .drilling a smaller hole for the wires. just to go down and the aftermarket once was easier and then they were cheap. the factory ones you have to do a big square hole. and keeps them from twisting and they snap in .a lot more to be accurate with the holes in the drilling and the mountain. Sometimes easier to buy a truck with lights already but mine has not leaked one bit. haven't had any problem still worked great

    Other than cool factor why put these on? I know trucks over 80" by law have to have it. Or is it just to alert on coming traffic or does it aid in seeing things better for the driver? Great video by the way

    Hi, did you connect all the black wires together in one circuit? (And grounded all the white wires to the headliner?) Thanks. (By the way, your lights look awesome!)

    • @Poor-old-Podunk-plow-boy
      @Poor-old-Podunk-plow-boy  9 месяцев назад

      All of one color goes together, all of the other color goes together. Depends on where you get your lights. Some are red and black, some are black & white. Some are red and white. Yes, one circuit LED's use less voltage. I went straight and sliced in to the headlight switch for my run lights. No extra switch or relay

      @@Poor-old-Podunk-plow-boy Thanks; I installed lights on my 1996 Ford F-350. Your video was very helpful with the wiring and grounding. I couldn't find the parking light wire, so I spliced the wires together on the ignition wire, and capped it. Once again, thank you for the great video.

    Another great video man. Lights look awesome. You thought about getting the 08 mirrors. I put them on mine and it’s night and day difference with what you see now. Had to wire in the turn signals and running lights behind the main switch.

    • @Poor-old-Podunk-plow-boy
      @Poor-old-Podunk-plow-boy  2 года назад +1

      Yes sir I did but like you I'll have to wire them either just running lights and are turn signals because there's no wires in the doors

      @@Poor-old-Podunk-plow-boy Exactly, my 99 just had power for adjustment, I had to run wires from the doors through the weather grommet into the cab then up the light switch from both sides. Mirrors came with the pig tail/plug to power the lights.

    Are the white same as red wires?

    • @Poor-old-Podunk-plow-boy
      @Poor-old-Podunk-plow-boy  Год назад

      You need to check it 1st If it's an LED it should not blow up if you have red and black red should be your power. black should be ground but sometimes whites are grounds depending on manufacturers In some of the stuff out a China white is power and So you just need to check it with a battery 12 votes and see if it lights up if it doesn't swap it around

    I have a question for you, what kind of wire did you use for the light harness

    • @Poor-old-Podunk-plow-boy
      @Poor-old-Podunk-plow-boy  10 месяцев назад

      What kind of wire it is stranded copper wire? It is about a 10 gauge which was the same as the lights that I put on top. I matched what They had used with what I already had

    • @Poor-old-Podunk-plow-boy
      @Poor-old-Podunk-plow-boy  Год назад +1

      One of the videos I explained how the wires were run. if you're using factory ford lights you have to have the plug in . I do not know you have to buy the factory wireing harness to go with it . Now if these are the cheaper after markets .I have 2 wires a white wire and a black wire and I tell which one's power. I can't remember right now but Connect all blackwires together and connect all whitewires to Gather cramp and souter are used connectors and cramp heat shrink .I run 2 wires down the A pillar on the left and I ground The ground wire to the a pillar right there. I screwed it to the A pillar. then the hot power wire I run down to the headlight switch.to the run lights and cramp them with a spice connector
