The concerns are mostly about the civilian population in a warzone since DU that shears off on an impact can get into the soil and contaminate it+any water sources in the vicinity and since it's a heavy metal it will stay there for ages and also produce harmful effects even in miniscule doses. However in all honesty being concerned with this when every post war area is filled with explosives, duds, mines etc is kinda sillly.
I'd immediately assume that if M1's were deployed in combat in certain areas then the civilian population has been evacuated at that point. As for the long lasting effects then idk i feel like they should worry about undetonated explosives more but yea I can see why they'd be concerned about their resources being contaminated with radiation.
@@fiz7657 a friend of mine died for leukemia after was deployed for some times in Kosovo in 1998, and he was not the only one to die in this way here in Italy. DU rounds was one if not the main cause. They were sent to clean the shit that was left on the battlefield and with low or no protection at all. Today there are 382 confirmed decease and 7600 with cancer or other complications.
Bro used modded ghpc footage 0/10 video In all seriousness the American's are not the only ones who have used DU in there APFSDS rounds The Soviets had 3BM36 and 3BM32 Both designed to fight NERA composite arrays So I find it funny that this controversy only is really talked about when the Abrams is bought up but no where else
Yea its really weird that people only point out its usage in the abrams when the soviets also used it. My guess is that people just push that narrative out because they dislike the tank for its other controversial reasons idk 🤷
ngl I have been using mods in GHPC for atleast multiple months if not a year by now they are amazing especially the pact increased lethality mod he did a amazing job with the T72B3
@rayotoxi1509 no doubt the ghpc modding community has a lot of talent Just look at how well done the T-72B3s fire control system is modeled for PIL But I don't care and I'm not interested The one of the reasons I like ghpc is because of the variety of FCS's modeled in-game from the confidence rangefinder's of the M60A1s and T-64As to the newer FCS'S of the T-64B, T-80B and the Abrams As well as the fact that the developer's have picked a setting that being fulda gap 1985 and not add stuff that doesn't fit Obviously in the future we could get expansions but I'm talking about base game I feel like when you start adding stuff like M1A1 AIMs and T-72B3s you completely lose all of that and everything simply becomes one gray mass
@rayotoxi1509 of cause this is only my opinion and if you think otherwise well that's what you think So if you want to use mods go ahead I'm not going to hate on you or stop you I just as I side have no interest for ghpc mods and I'm not the biggest fan of them
In case nobody told you already, you were missing on the last BMP because you were still inside your smoke screen, you can see with thermals but it reflects and difracts laser, so the FCS went to the minimum 200m range and aimed right to compensate for parallax

The brits also used DU, aliens could use it, it's still dumb and hazardous.

I realised that after the 2nd missed shot hence why I moved forward a bit to get out of the smoke, im a bit stupid ik 😭
