    This is *exactly* the type of space painting I've been looking for! Most the others involve tons of uncommon tools and raw inks.

    For the non airbrush method how do you make your blue, red and purple paints thin enough to tint with. Are you just adding more water to the paint than normal?

      You can make a glaze that way yes. I think I used coloured washes though. Or else you can use translucent acrylic inks. As long as it colours while letting the underlying colours show through, it should be fine.
