Hi, i'm generally trained in my home country but registered as a mental health nurse in the UK. I want to go back to general nursing when my mental health license is near to expire. Can i reapply for general nursing rather than mental health nursing?

If you’ve got training in mental health it should be very easy. Apply as you would an adult nurse but this time around choose Mental Health Nursing. It’s literally the same process but u will write a different kind of CBT for mental health. Watch the full video to understand. Good luck!

@bukunmiadelekun8941 verification is that you’re a recognised nurse practising and your pin is active. So you can be verified. It’s not what type of nurse you are, but that you’re practicing and have no sanctions or anything like that. I hope you understand
I am also in the similar situation that i have applied for midwife and now i want to switch to adult nurse, but whenever i tried to re-register as adult nurse, when I enter the email address it says that you already have account and i can’t proceed further.
Please guide me through this process.

Two years ago I did my NMC verification under adult health nursing and got verified but I'm yet to write the competence test. Now I want to be verified as a mental health nurse because I had the clinical experience, is it possible for me to be verified in both adult and mental health nursing and write their competence tests without having to cancel one? Because i want to do both and search for jobs in both fields, anyone i got first i go with it. Please ma, is it possible or i must stick with one?
I don’t think it’s possible to have two registrations under UKNMC. Each will require you to meet certain criteria in order to keep your registration. It will be impossible to meet both requirements at the same time.

If your ielts is still active and not expired, you can start the whole process again. But this time register as mental health and write

if your IELTS is unexpired, you register with NMC again as an adult nurse to get the adult nurse qualification

you will need to write and pass adult nursing CBT and OSCE. Register with nmc as adult nurse and go through the process as you will
i just filled the application i havent given CBT exam, i applied for adult nurse by mistake can i cancel the application and apply for mental health? if i do so do i hav to pay the fees again?
Can’t remember now but before you pay, they let you know which one is refundable or not. I think only the second payment is refundable from what i remember. Email them at: Overseas.Enquiries@nmc-uk.org and ask if you can resubmit the application since you haven’t gone far. Or what you can do. They will guide you. Worse case scenario you have to apply again.
