      Yeah I understand.
Although I really wished the game had better performance. I’d like to play with a bunch of colonists. I’d like to play with a bunch of items. And I’d certainly love to play the game with a ton of buildings. However one thing that spells out to me in this game, is that progress means less performance. Which deters me from playing the game because of how many times I’ve restarted.
I’ve been working for a LONG time to make my mod list less laggy. 30 colonists is about 300-450-500 TPS and yet. Im hesitant about playing because just by making progress, my TPS would be down the drain even with “performance fish,” “performance optimizer,” and “rocketman.”
I know nothing about programming and making video games, but I’ve had heard that Rimworld doesn’t do a good job on the performance optimization. Hopefully, if possible. The game would somehow get better performance. But something tells me that would be nearly impossible.

In case someone has a relatively small modpack or is ready to sacrifice some mods they 100% should use Rimthreaded instead. In terms of raw performance it tops any other mods by a huge margin. It is, however, even more incompatible than CE and sometimes unstable. But for me personally it's better to have my game stop every process and requiring restart but playing on smooth and high tps even in the very late game.

Rocketman causes more red errors with my mods and I cannot safely uninstall it when it is in an existing game. Rimthreaded is the best performance optimizer but not all mods work with it. Performance analyzer doesn't increase performance. It just tells you where the problem may lie. Most games lag due to red and yellow errors. Find the mods that are causing those errors and remove them from your game.

    Hi, friend!
I'm completely new to Rimworld. Pls tell me, is it worth start playing on an old laptop (i3-5005u (2x2.0ghz), 8 ram, 2 gb video), even thought on the start fps sometimes drops to 25-30 when I zoom out and speed up x3, or better put game aside for better times? Played a little with no mods but with all 3 dlc.
    Thanks!

Hahaha, yeah unfortunately not much is compatible with CE. I believe the problem is that the game runs on 1 core so when there are lots of things going on, your computer can't utilize more CPU power leading to bad performance. These do help to an extent though.
