Your videos remind me of a Saturday or sunday morning in northern Ohio. They remind me of Norm Abraham and Bob V. on PBS. Your channel should definitely be shared with the country. I think a lot of young men and women would learn and enjoy it a lot. 🎉❤
One of the best videos I’ve seen in a while. I’m like Mel Gibson in the movie Patriot when I try making one in my shop….lol. I’m gonna share this and watch it again. Thank you
What an inspirational video; a great pleasure to see,,, working indepenently, close to home, producing what everybody needs and uses each day…great independence to be celebrated…may God keep it going…thank you for a few minutes of enjoyment
This is just utterly incredible-☆ the best part is his story/reasons for why he chose his life's path- one of nature- beauty and love-♡ Thank you both so very much for sharing this--◇--
I hope this series ends up in the Smithsonian... Thank you so much for your love of American craft. It shows in the care you took preserving these National treasures on media.
His gentle nature and soft spoken words remind me of Mr. Rodgers. He certainly seems like the type of person that I would want to learn the craft from.
I just want to say I absolutely love, love, love this channel. I just found it. Confession, I work night shift and had a slow night and burned through about 8 episodes! I relate your opening words on the channel with having a job I’ve done for years and have grown to despise it. My heart isn’t with it and I really want to focus on my craft (woodworking) and this has totally inspired me to focus towards that goal. So appreciate the time you’ve put into interviewing these craftsman/artists and really look forward to more of these. You yourself are a great craftsman and artist and I absolutely love your shop as well. God bless and thanks again.
This series is a perfect fit for the new Magnolia network. Just their kind of content and vibe and we could get more great episodes. Best of luck as this is a great series.
Been following you for about a year (on another streaming platform), dig your love of craft. Great video, Curtis is the kind of person we all should strive to be like. I enjoyed his deliberateness, life is about taking ones time.
You all probably dont care but does anyone know a tool to get back into an Instagram account..? I somehow forgot my account password. I appreciate any help you can give me.
@Deangelo Ty Thanks for your reply. I got to the site on google and I'm waiting for the hacking stuff now. Takes quite some time so I will reply here later with my results.
Great vid. I like how you say you changes work to feed your soul. I am starting to take on tasks that feed my spirit or as you say it your soul. This is not the normal way of thinking and success is not always having titles and money if you are left unfulfilled.
Great video. Curtis Buchanan is a fantastic man. The videos he puts out are out of this world. Thanks for your great content as well as showcasing a great chairmaker.
I love seeing a motorcycle guy’s face when he attempts another craft and realizes the rest of us don’t get to use body filler to make our finished surface… sorry, Eric… had to tease 😀. But, hey, thanks for visiting Curtis and bringing us this episode. He’s absolutely the best… chairmaker AND teacher!!!
Great stuff, for sure! Nice video. Chraftsmen don't "battle for perfection", any more than an airline pilot would struggle to land a plane (under normal conditions). You put in 40 years, you probably have a few things down. And the 7 years apprenticeship, would be enough in most cases.
You hear guys say stuff like "this is an easier method". Who cares, it's all easy to a craftsman. There used to be this big stupid argument about tails or pins first. Stupid only because it was at the level of which is easier, or gives better results. If the only thing getting me off a desert island is my ability to make a dovetail, starting whatever way you say I should. I will get off the Island on the first boat.
Loose sleeve cuffs and a revolving lathe is a recipe for a very serious and painful accident. Please Stay safe and enjoy .I have made many Windsor chairs and smokers bows using traditional methods e.g trapping planes and rounders and draw knives.
Great video! I noticed Curtis’ “Ragin Cajuns” cap And so I’m curious to know if he has been to Lafayette Louisiana? I am from the Lafayette area, and was very surprised to see him wearing a UL cap..
Great videos. I love the content and interviews. Have you considered Daniel Casey at Casey Arms? He's on facebook. I believe that would be a wonderful interview. Thank you!
@@CraftsmansLegacy If i was in the usa i love your show. I was an I.T geek but a routine medical procedure went wrong. I have nueropahic nerve pain from a cut nerve on the brain. So I have 'fallen' into wood as to keep my hands busy I never studied it before and I am really enjoying producing things with my hands
@@shenlun some of the best craftsman & women i have learned from are disabled. Its more plausible than u think if u improve a little every day in no time it will amount to a great deal of skill. I'm rooting 4 you future craftsman. Just keep building before you know it you'll have built you're self into who you want to be
I never get tired of listening to Curtis talk about chair making.
Thank you.

Watching these shows while having breakfast is the perfect way to start the day 😌
Sounds great! What's for breakfast??
I LOVE love LOVE your tools! I used to collect woodworking tools and revered them if I used them.
That is awesome!

Just recently started following you and love how you interact with real craftsman. Very inspiring.
Awesome, thank you!
That's a difficult build and he makes it look so easy. Excellent craftsmanship!
Curtis truly makes it look easy. Amazing craftsman.

I think it's a great way to work. It took me a long time to understand. All the best, Cory!
That was a privilege and honor to watch you made me feel good thank you
Eric I know you love woodworking and your excitement was palpable. Curtis is so nice and funny, you guys made a great team…..great show😎

Curtis is the best, hands down.
Absolutely! Wonderful gentleman.
Amazing how spotless his shop was
Curtis' shop was really special. Very clean, functional and calming.

Thank you! I agree, Curtis is a wonderful man. It was an honor to learn from him.
I just started woodworking and these shows are super inspiring.
Glad to hear it!
Wow!! I have always wondered about how Windsor chairs are made and this cleared up a lot of the mystery for me.
Glad it was helpful!
Incredible to watch this craftsman build that beautiful chair. Classic, not my taste at all, but I love the hand made originals just the same.
Thank you very much!
Man another wicked awesome Craftsman. Thank you so much for sharing this.
Thank you!! I appreciate the kind words
You ‘da man, Curtis and a true Craftsman!
Curtis is an amazing craftsman.
Pura vida great craftsmans items
Om kerjanya mantap kerja dengan hiti good 👍👍
Good work
Thank you so much 😀
The reason alone this man wanted to be the craftsman that he is says so much.
Very true. I remember that most when thinking about my time with Curtis.
I would really like to see the details of construction. Making everything fit is the most difficult of any assembly.
What an amazing craftsman.
Oh man! You've got that right. Curtis is amazing
Fantastic video. This guy has some amazing knowledge!
We agree!
Great man. Love from Pakistan
Thank you!!
Wonderful to see this process! I was really loving the process, start to finish!
A+++!
Thanks so much!
Very beautiful
Thank you!
I love to make things using tools like draw knife, without electricity, the video give ideas, great.
There is a definite peacefulness using hand tools. Thank you

Since the show is about craftsmen and not airline pilots, I only include craftsmen in the voice over. Thanks

Thanks for the tip!
What a great craftsman. He can probably build a chair in his sleep that would rival anything coming out of any "factory". I believe he teaches, also.
Well said! I think Curtis does teach classes too.
So cool
Good stuff. Just subscribed and hope to see more.
Thank you!
New Subscriber, GREAT CHANNEL, KEEP IT GOING, THANK YOU‼️‼️👍👍. Vinny 🇺🇸

Watching this video was more like a meditation.
Man, I would pay money just to get the experience you do working with these guys.
Blessed life for sure. Thank you
Curtis is a treasure.
He certainly is!
Great videos. I love the content and interviews. Have you considered Daniel Casey at Casey Arms? He's on facebook. I believe that would be a wonderful interview. Thank you!
Great suggestion!
Inspirational!
That we all could be so blessed.
He is amazing, i always watch his videos i'm learning how to make that chair

Thank you. It's always a top priority
City boy be kinda funny! We'd say he's dull as a fro.

I want to be a craftsman if I was not disabled
I have seen many people with disabilities study craftsmanship, maybe you can too? How can I help?
I know disabled craftspersons, I can advise, or ask them how you can get started

"Berkshire" is pronounced bark-shu.
Windsor is in the county Berkshire, not “Brookshire”, England. There is no Brookshire county.
Thanks for the information.
