I used the pellets also in conjunction with some stuffing. You were lucky got those 3 “ recalled” books ! I made that very same X-Mss tree in ceramics class back in 1974. Gave it to my daughter years ago. The 2 Easter eggs are adorable!☺️ I got out all my Value Village $2.00 frames 2 months ago and my many finished cross stitch pieces. I was enthusiastic about making some fully finished objects, but was rushing to finish my niece’s wedding sampler for Aug 24, and have now lost interest. I would definitely line the pillow when using these. They are terrible to get up if spilled or pillow get a hole . Loved all of your great ideas, purchases and so much fun to see you

Hey Sarah, I’m going back in time with FlossTube #1. I didn’t know what “the dump” referred to until now. I just started watching #1 to see Man & Wife again. Over the hill and through the woods, I go. 🕵️♀️
That last frame may be gaudy now, but! I immediately saw a classic stitched rose pattern in it. I do not decorate in a Victorian style, but, I love a classic flower pattern in a collection. Or, one of mammagloves you new birds! Great finds as usual. Thanks for sharing.
It's just a guess but the recall of the Margaret Sherry magazine might be because there are charting errors on some of the charts. So watch your stitching when you work out of that magazine. I just finished a piece using etoile floss. The etoile colors match regular DMC so I used one strand of regular DMC with one strand of etoile. My finish isn't as sparkly but the stitching was a bit easier.
That’s a great idea for stitching with Etoile! I searched for info on the recall but no luck. I just joined a fb group to see if someone may have more info ❤
Hi Sara: that shark is a hoot, oh my gosh the spider web fabric is so cool, using a laying tool would work for the thread to lay properly. It is a perfect frame, love your new treasures, the cat panel is so sweet, I use the pellets and fiber fill, I especially like it for my barrel finishing. You are lucky to have found Santa, I just took a felted class to make beetles it is so easy to do, I love peeps, so cute. I love frames that are banged up,they have character, see you soon.
For the Etroile ( spelling?) You might use the snack size ( or what ever size you have on hand )ziplock baggies or the generic equivalent. That way they will not tangle up with the other threads. Being in the baggies it will tangle less upon itself.
DMC etoille adds a nice sparkle to projects. I run it over thread magic or wax. It makes it a bit more manageable to thread the needle & helps the thread to lay nicely.
Yes, I have used poly pellets. They work great. I usually line my pillows with fusible interfacing as an extra barrier. I then fill with pellets. I sometimes intermix quilting scraps and pellets. Then, at the end, I will lay a piece of batting over the hole that I hand stitch closed so the pellets won't spill out. Poly pellets are great when you don't know if the recipient is allergic to Walnuts. I can't wait to see what you sew once you get going. Your Juki is a treasure. I have several machines, and my Juki comes out for the thick stuff.
Great video. I use the poly pellets with polyfil for my small pillows. It does the add weigh to pillows. I would love to follow you around when you are thrifting, so much fun. Thanking for sharing.
I use Polly pellets for several things, great for pillows. Great prices on fabric and frames also. So enjoy waking up on Mondays and finding your videos. Hugs.
So enjoy your videos, always makes me smile to see all the treasures you find. I believe Nichol Spohr has mentioned that she has used poly pellets and poly fill to stuff pillows. Still working up my nerve to FFO my smalls! I hope you have a wonderful rest of the week! 🙏🙏🙏
Use the Poly Pellets with Poly-fiber-fil instead of using walnut shells for pillows, start with the Poly-fil, get it into the corners and a good base of it. I don't add too much of the pellets. If you write on those labels, use a Frixion pen, so the ink can be erased & stickers re-used.
So excited to see your video pop up on this Labor Day holiday! Have to tell you, you have “enabled” me to pick up lots of unfinished frames and other wood items at my local thrift store. 😊 Lots of projects for a cozy fall or winter day.
I tried to get the magazine at my local Joann's today. Rang up as Recalled. I tried to get the cashier let me take off their hands but it was a no-go. He said he normally would, but since all the stores are being watched for inventory he would not let me have it. Oh well, I tried.
