  • In this video Tutorial of Revit. I will teach you how to create a Room Tag which automatically extracts the Dimension of Room.
    Formula used
    Length = (Perimeter + sqrt(Perimeter ^ 2 - 16 * Area)) / 4
    Width = Area/Length.

    after trying this the result i'm getting is longer side X shorter side. And if I change formula to(Perimeter + sqrt(Perimeter ^ 2 - 16 * Area)) / 4 result i'm getting is shorter side X longer side. but in the video i can clearly see that it's x by y. how do I achieve that. can someone please help me out. thank you.

    I am still having the trouble as others. I followed your method. I would like it to show Length x Width every time, however this method (as well as others I've found) will show the bigger dimension first every time wither it's the width or the length of the room. Any suggestions?

      Edit label > select the top parameter, and shift it to below the other parameter.

    For length every other youtubers use a different formula . I wonder if both are correct

    Hi usually when i do this , the dimension which is the largest appears first . Usually when we dimension it we do the horizontal dimension first followed by the vertical one. but if the horizontal is lesser then revit automatically makes the dimension with the higher value appears first. is there anyway to control that ?

      Have you tried this formula?, Because as per this formula it will not create the same issue.
      Let me know if you still facing the same.

    It is very nice for a room with only four walls, but does not work for irregularly shaped room, such as an octagon.

  • @revitresidentialtutorialsr9131
    @revitresidentialtutorialsr9131 2 года назад

    the formula only works for rectangular spaces. if the room is not a rectangle the area of the space makes the formula based upon the area incorrect with respect to the dimension value.

      @@bimparametrics7037 one more problem sir jee if you add plaster thickness to brick wall so the room parameters count room dimensions from internel face of the plaster not from brick face 😭 how to solve that problem 😭

    This does not work, but I found a solution that works for all rooms, square or rectagular

  • @Sameer.K2

    This formula for length would give you accurate result only if the Length of Room is greater than the width. So not accurate
