Good fishing trip man!! "Chalky for the talky" 😂😂😂😂 I'll have to look again when I can focus gooder, I never saw the turtle 🐢. Thanks for the fun man! Congratulations on catching something!! I usually only catch weeds and the only bites I get are skeeters..
That antifreeze colour seems to happen in our waterways after floods or a dry spell. Us Aussie's call that shit Blue Green algae.and we don't eat the fish when that's blooming .....WING DING..
That lake has to be chocker blocked with fish. That algae bloom says it is a good rich water with lots of plankton. Nice bass...no skunking today baby. Nothing wrong with swivels except on billed swim baits, where they kill the action. With the billed swim baits, learn to tie a loop knot and the action will be insane. Given the color of the water I would have been chucking a chartruese and blue spinner bait with brass blades at the banks. Wind permitting, I generally get against the bank and cast parallel to it...working my runs in close at first and then moving out 4 or 5 feet with each successive cast but still staying in close to the bank. That way you are keeping your bait within the strike zone the entire distance of the run. If you are out and throwing in, your zone is very narrow and short. You see most people staying out and throwing straight at the bank. You can catch fish like this but it is not nearly as productive as running parallel. That is a general rule but fishing points and drops is a bit different approach. When fishing those small jigs, try putting them under a pegged styrofoam cork...I prefer the smaller ones that will still float the jig. It is best for the cork to sit vertically with about a 1/3 sticking out of the water. If the cork does not sit verticle, try a smaller cork or add a split shot about 6" above the jig. Give the cork a slight jerk-pull moving it 8 or so inches....just keep kind of jerking it along with brief pauses to let the jig fall back to depth. They will usually hit it on the fall. This way you can catch bass, crappie, and bream. I really don't mean to sound like a know-it-all but I did not give myself this nickname. Other fishermen did. 😛Becoming a very successful angler is a pretty big learning curve. I always loved the challenge. I love the quote, "The charm of fishing is the pursuit of what is elusive but attainable, a perpetual series of occasions for hope." Pretty much sums it up. At any rate, if you want to learn to be a successful angler, concentrate on that lake....it has tons of fish....believe me.
Thank you very much for taking the time to share some knowledge my friend! Truly greatly appreciated! There were definitely some monsters jumping in that lake I'll just have to keep getting out there an hopefully snag one! Thanks again for sharing your tips n tricks my friend! Have a great day!
Your videos are awesome dude I wish that I lived closer to you it would be cool to hang out and have a few and cook some good food please keep putting out great content!!!!
Wind is the enemy when you're in a kayak...I bought a 1.5# folding grapple and put 50' of 550 cord on a "cord-winder" to keep me in place. I use a movable cleat on one of my rails to tie off. (fishing kayak) No fish, but still great to be out there!
Gorgeous day out bro! U cant beat that no matter what happens. Water therapy fixes everything. An yes bro, i never use a swivel or snap swivel. It disrupts the baits action. It adds weight and makes lures face heavy. Gets grass on it. Fish can see it and it is not natural at all. I try to match the hatch or forage and as natural as possible. I try to picture my bait as if its me underneath swimming and I think what would a fish think is real or fake. Just my philosophy and so far its been successful for me. Hopefully that helps you some bro but you probably knew that already lol
It had a hole but had to do some plastic welding and wire mesh to cover it. Then I put a roofing tar mixture over that and let it bake in the sun. So far so good lol I work with what I got haha
Yellow little brother from anothers mother, you going to rhyme all the time or fish and paddle all the time.😂😂😂,i just try it to see if i could and I sucked lol.😂😂😂,boooo

Give him a nibble for just a little to catch his first fish of the day😂.
Better than nothing!
@@TheOutdoorsMeGee yes yes yes I agree 👍
Please tell us about your boat ,how u fixed it on the sides and why u did it ,?was it to not scratch u right.

@@TheOutdoorsMeGee ohhh,ok cool,thanks for letting me know .
Those woods look THICK! Are they accessible to stealth camp in?
It's all private property on the banks. Iowa is so bought up man it's crazy.
Looks like an algae problem
