    John David Jackson did a tremendous job with Algieri, he gave him the best game plan to fight a guy like Khan and he trained Algieri to fight a kind of fight that he never fought before and be effective with it against one of the top guys in his first fight at a new weight, Algieri also impressed me with his ability to fight in a new style and being effective with it.
    Khan won though.

    Disappointing from Khan's perspective, could have had a better performance but he still deserves the mayweather fight as he can cause his problems as he has the style not saying he would beat him but at least give mayweather a run for his money!

    You have got to remember that Khan made a stupid decision to come in light into the fight at 153lbs when he would usually be 160lbs and Algieri came in at 165lbs and this made a big difference in this fight

    • @FightBusiness1
      @FightBusiness1 9 лет назад

      BoxingFan how do you know that algieri was 165 and khan only 153. im jw

    • @boxingfan5674
      @boxingfan5674 9 лет назад +5

      ***** Paul smith aint no bloody athlete, look at him. We are talking about Chris Algieri who is young and fit and who is a nutritionist, plus former kick boxer. Paul Smith is a 32 yr old man.

    • @boxingfan5674
      @boxingfan5674 9 лет назад +2

      aattitude The point I am making is that, depending on who you are, you start to decline more or less once you hit past 30 years of age, and Algieri is a natural athlete and his rate of decline is not going to be as much as Paul Smith who is not.

    • @fightgamer8311
      @fightgamer8311 9 лет назад

      +Anas Haq because khan said in an interview he came in 153lbs and algieri came 165lbs now in khans last 2 fights he came in 160 against alexander and 161 against collazo and that made a Hudge advantage being heavier in his last 2 fights but in this fight he was light and small and didn't look good shape as his last 2 fights.

    • @MrPerformer97
      @MrPerformer97 9 лет назад

      +BoxingFan +kakaotkate101 , also, paul smith came in heavy on the day of the way in which showed a dull camp, the weight of khan and algieri on the day of the fight would be in contrast to the weight the day prior because of the weigh in. so they were both fit at at least 147 then, just a case of rehydration i think

  • @NewarkBay357
    @NewarkBay357 9 лет назад +6

    Algieri carried the fight to Khan throughout the entire bout with effective aggression. Khan moved well and boxed well with well measured flurries . Khan countered beautifully at times but was a sucker for Algieri's overhand right that was clearly the hardest blow that algieri landed with sproadic consistency. Too bad he only put one terrific left hook combination subsequent to the tomahawk right. There is no doubt that Algieri landed the heavier blows by far & away. Algieri hurt Khan more than Khan hurt Algieri. IDK what the Compu-Punch stats are, but I think Khan probably had a slight lead that was offset by Algieri's heavier blows and effective aggression that had Khan boxing off his backfoot throughout the entire 12 Rounds. You can count on one hand how many times Khan backed up Algieri. I think Algieri deserved at the very least a Draw, but in my opinion won a close decision. Being on the attack all night long, and landing a ton of body blows should count for something. That something is a well earned victory. Khan won on reputation more than his Boxing acumen.

    Chris fought with his aggressive style and amazing footwork. He never backs down and is always moving forward. He is fun to watch and hard to get on the canvas. Kahn certainly tried but seemed surprised that Chris just kept coming with relentless pressure. Chris was surprised when Kahn didn’t fade in the latter rounds. If Chris had just a little more power he could dominate most in his division. Just can’t seem to have enough to knock opponents down or out. Great fight.

    I certainly thought the fight was closer and would agree with the first judge.Algiers fought an intelligent fight and gave Khan all he could handle. He was the more aggressive boxer and landed the harder punches. He even had Khan hurt several times whereas Khan never had him buckled.or stunned.

    Canelo's a cherry picking coward. Dela Hoya and HBO are wrong for making the fight, and are just money hungry crooks. Canelo's the Middleweight 'champ' but he has to reach down 2weight classes to pick on a glass-chin welterweight --__-- ?? Smfh pathetic... Also considering all the great fights PBC are giving us every week for free, HBO & Dela Hoya still have the cheek to try charge fans PPV $$ for this garbage mismatch like they always do smh! No ones $upporting their BS, everyone will just stream it. They're selling people a circus show and I honestly believe it will be a bad night for Khan's family.

    *amir displayed great hand speed,head movent,and slick foot work to really counter algieri's aggresision.algeris did have success with his right hand counter or leads,and also had success in the body but did not do nearly enough to win this bout,it is clear that amir won the majority of the rounds but that being said this was still a very great fight and cant wait to see more from these two improving and skilled fighters!

  • @AMacMcfallin
    @AMacMcfallin 9 лет назад +7

    Maybe it is the boxing skills of Algieri but both Pac Man and Khan got exposed win fighting him. Granted he lost both times but if you watch the fights Algieri was smack both with right hands and jabs. That told me Manny stood no chance against Floyd and the same goes with Khan. If Algieri does this to him what do you think the far more superior boxer will do?

      Lmao exposed Pacquiao?? Yeah right. Algieri didn't do shit but get raped. You didn't need to watch that fight to know Pacquiaos weakness is a good boxer, aka Floyd. And comparing this fight to a Mayweather Khan fight is silly. Algieri fought a completely different style. He pressured Khan and walked him down. Khan would most likely be the aggressor against Mayweather. So it's not even close to the same thing.

    • @AMacMcfallin
      @AMacMcfallin 9 лет назад

      Tali l who besides Algieri and Mayweather was a good boxer that posed a threat? Marquez isn't ba good boxer per say, only a counter puncher. Algieri showed it first then Money got it done.

    • @gsimon123
      @gsimon123 9 лет назад +2

      +Vacay McFallin Pac just isn't what he used to be. That's all the Algieri fight showed me. 3 years ago Pac would KO Algieri within 5 rounds. In fact, 3 years ago Pac would have beaten Mayweather also. A past his prime Pac dropped Algieri hard and out-boxed him cleanly in all but maybe 2 rounds tops. Algieri being able to land punches doesn't mean much when Pac lands more and gets hit less and is the one doing the 6 knockdowns. Algieri just proved hard to hit early on I give him that and he's a good fighter. If Floyd did that to Algieri Floyd fans would be singing his praises but nah same thing Pac does it and you say he got exposed! LOL! But he never caused Pacquiao any problems beyond Pac being older and slower than in his prime. Pac was unscathed in both fights also because both guys were on the defensive 100% of the fights. They just needed to hope Pac wasn't what he used to be lol! I knew Pac would lose to Floyd even as a big Pac fan but it is because Pac is slowing down and past his prime not because I think he can't fight. Floyd is also a great counter-puncher and timed Pac well which is Pac's weakness. Algieri does not have the timing of Floyd or Marquez or Morales (the three legit losses on Pac's career). See so many of you guys think it is blind luck that Pac dismantled Algieri... You'll never give Pac his props of being faster and harder hitting than Algieri as well as outboxing him for most of the rounds. Meanwhile Floyd is doing IVs and retiring after losing 4 rounds to a Pac with one arm despite having the perfect style to diffuse Pac... Nuf said. Pac is at least entertaining and honest and clean. But I don't think Algieri would ever beat Pac.

      I didn't think about

      Khan is in all honestly waisting so much time
      tryna first get the Mayweather fight without fighting Top level guys to show to the fans
      that he belongs in the
      Floyd catagory of possible
      opponents to look out for
      and fans demanding for
      and now he's just waiting
      around to see if he gets Pacquiao next year

      Jesse Saucedo That's what his problem is. He wants those cash out fights that he hasn't earned. I suspect deep down inside he knows those guys would probably beat him and he doesn't want to risk the loss because he knows that all but guarantees him no shot at either Mayweather or Pacquiao.
