Very Pythonesque background and sound analytical tack. My simplistic take is that if the vehicle hasn't got one, it can't fail. The publicised range of Defender "failures" so far seems to to span : 1) unrepairable "engine parameter" problem whatever that means, 2) an incorrectly installed exhaust sensor with melted connector, 3) camera communications issues, 4) the famous unrepairable winch installation "loom of doom", 5) false coolant low level warning driving uphill, 6) intermittent suspension fault warnings . I think I've accepted now what this vehicle is and what it no longer is. Setting aside the electronics, the deal breakers for me are the lack of wheel articulation and the undignified tottering on three wheels when off road, plus road tyre aspect ratios.
Well said Phil. My part 2 video will be out soon. My take is that JLR could go a long way to sorting it but they aren't that interested. Pythonesque background? It's just my olive grove. All I can do is to film the video wherever I happen to be.
Great topic. Looking forward to part 2.
Another great video to keep your subscribers wanting more, before tucking into the turkey.

Are they your sheep, Bill?
You think I'm that wealthy?
@@defendermodsandtravels Fair point, Bill
@@Predator27007 I let my neighbour graze his sheep in my olive grove. They get fes and it reduces the fire load.
The only way a Defender could be reliable is if it were to magically transform into a Toyota Land Cruiser.
